With Cassano Inter would be fighting for the CL spot.

Thanks Mazzarri, Belfodil is also very valuable player for us when he isn't even playing at Inter.

I wouldn't be suprised if it turns out that Cassano is head and shoulders a better player than anyone we bring in this summer.

Very sad to see him go just like that, enjoyed to watch him play last season.

An accurate comment.
I miss Cassano. He could pull off things that others in our team can only dream of.
Changing him for Belfodil, who was almost never used by Mazzarri was abominable.
Who the fuck ordered that? Branca, Moratti, Mazzarri himself?

After being nostalgic about Cassano I was reading about his current status in Parma. On some sites it's claimed he's on LOAN from INTER and that the half of Belfodil deal was a separate one. Then other sites state we exchanged his fully ownership for half of Belfodil.

I didn't follow his departure at that time, just got really pissed he went away.
Could you please enlighten me. I'm sure the answer is on some old post but I have to study for a test so I can't search for it.
Thanks in advance!

Cassano won't return, we paid for Belfodil with him and some huge amount of money for HALF of Belfodil

Him and Belfodil were separate deals. Cassano is technically on loan at Parma with Parma paying 100% of his wages. However his contract ends in June, so it's practically all of him since we wont renew his contract.

As for belfodil, we paid 6 mils for half of him, but has less than 1 mil wage if im not wrong, while Cassano had 3.5 mils + bonuses.

That's semantics really.. We used Cassano to get a discount on Belfodil.

Sorta like the Ronaldo - Santiago Solari deal.

Hm. Is he really on loan? That's news to me. He's been pretty vocal lately that all he cares about is Inter. If Milito will not get a renewal, Thohir should either get him as a free agent on low wages, since Cassano (supposedly) wouldn't mind, being an Inter fan and all, or renew him before June, on same terms.

He's also vocal about how Mazzari was the one responsible for kicking him out of Inter..

Not quite as vocal, but yeah, I know. Either way, Mazzarri kicked him out while MM was here, now it's a different story. Thohir surely is following the press, and Cassano's performances for Parma - afterall, it's not like he's the only interista there now. Just saying. Either way, it'd be nice to have him back, even on the bench for all I care.

People forget about "cassanata" far too easily tbh

He's a wonderful player to have on the pitch, but he causes FAR too many problems off it

We need to stick to our plans for Mazzarri.

We have no use of Cassano in Mazzarri's system, and he would just take all those money for doing nothing if he comes back.

Please show some trust in Mazzarri, he didn't need Cassano back then, he won't be needing him any time soon.

Yeah, he is on loan. But that's technically only, since as I said, his contract ends in June and we won't renew.

I'd take him back, he is creative force we need. But it won't happen and won't cry over it.

why exactly was he sold again?

Mazzarri kicked him out.

Cassano is past. He just doesn't have the mentality of a big team player, too lazy and indisciplined. That has been proven time and again at many big clubs including at Inter. Some players only shine when they are at the focal point of a small team - where ambitions are low enough to overlook inconsistency in favour of some winning performances.

Letting Cassano go was not the mistake Inter made, the mistake was not finding a proper replacement for him.
