Just waiting on Michaels post to say 'official' tbh.

That post is gonna land Michael so many thanks that it will melt the FIF servers and knock out the power grids to every major city in the world.

We still need replacement for Milito if he gets injured. Pure Center foward. Palacio can make difference, but we need another CF.

No. we actually don't. this is why I favour this Pazzo-Cassano swap. If you watched the first half of last friendly against Bizertin you would understand why we don't need another CF. The arrival of Cassano will offer much more flexibility and versatility for our attacking force.

wait let me get this...

bbilan after selling ibra and silva actually agreed to a Cassano + cash for pazzini?!

not that I'm complaining this is a great deal for us,with Cassano and a CM we could be serious contenders for the title this season but I don't understand why Galliani and Berlu would ok it...I mean its jst

This is it really, stripping bbilan out of stars upfront is orgasmic, eveif some people think that Cassano is gona be useless to us - which I find unpossible - it`s more than sufficient to see them without most of these starts they`ve just had last year.

Ok. One half of a friendly match against a Tunisian side will perfectly illustrate a fundamentally important point critical to the success of the team.

I dont know, we're still missing a young backup striker, like you said cafe. If milito doesn't perform/gets injured palacio could replace milito, yes. But then we wouldnt make use of his pace and dribbling skills no more. Though i guess it wouldn't be too awful, worst case we will have to get someone in january

No. The point is we don't necessarily rely on 1 certain fixed formation or tactics that focus with a must to have a CF. We can have few options with or without Milito and Palacio. I propose not to think in a way that we have 4321 or 4231 formation or whatever and we need that 1 CF to be Milito or someone who can be like Milito. It is the variety of tactics that matters for Stramaccioni.

i didn't see the whole match, just watching the highlight from Michael site. For me, i can't rely on Palacio and Militto for a season. With UEFA League match, we need more. At least one man, for foward. Longo is not ready to take this chance.

Yes, i know Strama Concept doesn't need pure striker. Maybe because we work flowly and move together on front of goal. Just like Barca maybe. My opinion, at least we need one more. Just for secure the lineup.

7m is just insane haha

wtf is going on with milan

post by a milan fan-

"ya seriously cassano is not even a make or break at this point.........it would be funny watching pato run straight into defenders and pazzini sit in the penalty for 90 minutes though. *not really"

"Cassano is just a player that wont like to play the kick and run PL mid table football we are aiming for this season, and its understandable. He just dont fit our new style.

This is what we are aiming for: Flamini, Traore, Ambrosini, Constant, Muntari, Nocerino - 6 headless chickens, RLY? "

they're really not happy (obviously)

Berlusconi is having doubts about this transfer apparently, who would have thought that the guy who hosted bunga bunga parties while he was in the highest office in Italy has good judgement...

But anyway Pazzo has been thrown out of the side we need a creative forward and Milan want a striker it's a good deal for everyone involved and plus it's Cassano+cash from what I hear so this is a great deal. And btw Cassano wasn't starting at Milan last season because of heart problems, he played quite a lot for them and plus he had a pretty decent Euro considering what he's been through earlier last season. And plus he's fucking Cassano.

ST: Milito, Palacio
SS: Cassano, Alvarez, Couti and Sneijder

We're going to play the 4-3-2-1 it seems so 6 players for 3 positions is pretty decent. After Cassano and Pereira then we'll get a midfielder so that criticism that we should stop taking this opportunity to sign Cassano because we need a midfielder is fucking stupid, we're not dismantling a bomb stop being drama queens.

But we are not relying on Palacio and Milito only. We also have Cassano. Wouldn't that be enough? I think people see it as Cassano must play as SS then Milito and Palacio as CF. If we could just for once forget these positions. we can play Cassano at the CF position as well. I don't know how many forwards would you need this team to have while we only have 1 or 2 spots for them.

Then we blame why Livaja never plays or when Longo becomes like Destro although I agree that Longo is far from ready..

I think it is enough to have 3 strikers who can offer more versatility. Last season we basically relied on Pazzo and Milito only as our strikers while Zarate and especially Forlan didn't involve much in the season.

Good to see the big majority is happy about this. And people complaing about Cassano coming should pull their heads of of their asses asap.

I believe that some people refuse to accept the way how Moratti, Branca and co. run the club and they still try to use logic when assessing mercato moves. Once you realize there is no real strategy nor plan and that pretty much every single move is reactionary, this very move for Cassano seems fantastic. The club is still in complete chaos but finally something great came out of it.

About Cassano.....Who gives a fuck about age, especially in Serie A if you are quality? Di Natale, Totti, Del Piero, even Milito ring a bell?

I must say that watching Cassano play at Euro was breathtaking. He still has it and has plenty of it.

No the club does have a vision we've been saying for a long time we want a creative forward, a left back and a midfielder. And we're getting those right now, this mercato did have a vision unlike the previous one last season which was done at the last minute.

Milito, Palacio and Cassano as our strikers is not enough for you? IMO it is totally enough since we're gonna play with one pure striker. Cassano will play lower and Palacio can cover Milito or lower forward positions. Sneijder, Coutinho and Alvarez will play lower forward / offensive midfielder positions.

It's actually very balanced and multifunctional set of offensive players if Cassano arrives to replace Pazzo. Only thing we are lacking then is a pure target type center forward but apparently and seemingly Stramaccioni doesn't prefer such role in his team.

Exactly. I'm not entirely in favour of signing an old Cassano who has no work rate and is not suited to be a wing forward or in a 4231. But this deal is good for us if Milan can pay 7-8m on top.

Pazzo is a very limited striker. The days of having such a striker are gone. Across Europe, I can't think of any top clubs barring Bayern and Juve (if you call them one) who are planning on having a clinical box striker who can't do much outside it. And Bayern have an extremely mobile support 3, while Juve use a 352 formation which suits it. Pazzo is good but with him, we definitely can't reach the top; and to be able to sell him while getting some cash and a useful player makes the deal non-refusable.

Gotta give credit to where it's due, normally I'm one of the first to lay into Branca when he gets it wrong, but IF we do manage to pull this off it's a pretty darn good deal for once. If Cassano performs for us excellent, even if he doesn't 7-8 mil for Pazzo is not a bad price given realistically we probably wouldn't of got much more than 10mil for him. Talent wise and the impact he can have on a game, there's no question Fantonio is lightyears more useful, and we would be strengthening ourselves while (if Pazzo maintains his current form) at the same time weakening one of our biggest rivals. Its a win-win situation for us, and about time we got one up on these bastards in terms of transfers.:troll:
