I don't know where people are getting the idea Conte would make a move for Brozovic. He wasn't really fond of Brozovic. Brozovic was even offered in swap deals for Kante and Leandro Paredes in 2020. He would definitely love to have Lukaku and Hakimi but he's too late. I can't see him going for Lautaro as they didn't have a good relationship. From the rest i can definitely see him coming for De Vrij. He would also love to get Barella and Bastoni but the guys love the club and they would have to be forced out to leave.

Anyway, for the time being Man Utd are sticking with Ole. So far it looks like to me Conte wants Utd more than Utd want Conte and that's why most of the rumours are coming from Italy.

The player United need the most is Brozovic, they have nobody else like him. Plus the notion of getting him on a free is probably too tempting to pass up

Because they know each other, won together and he could be a free agent in 2 months. And Conte did predict iirc that Brozovic was on the road to become wc midfielder.

Conte, is not an idiot and showing "interest" in no way means he'd take it especially in midseason with those egos. Ole has the backing of Sir Alex and some other minions, his contract is up in 2024 so he'll probably see out the season and target a CL spot. And I think Conte will go for 3-4-3 like he did it in Chelsea. United has wingers like Sancho, Martial, Greenwood, even Rashford and Cristiano can be used as wingers. Conte may not be fond of Brozovic, but that is the position that Conte will want to upgrade as the first priority for sure. Fred or Matic just ain't it. But I do agree with you, Man Utd have the kind of money which Inter never did, so Conte may go after Brozovic+ (and maybe pick Brozo on a free next summer). Maybe Rice, he has been a long term Man Utd target - though I don't rate him as highly as most do in this country. Maybe Kessie, who is also available on a free.

From Inter, I don't know if Conte will get anyone. He will probably want Barella, Bastoni or Skriniar, but I don't see those guys wanting to leave (unless Inter really tanks and lowers ambitions further). Man Utd definitely have the funds to make an offer that our broke club will find interesting. For some reason, I fear the most likely target is Skriniar, which is ironic coz Conte wanted to sell him at one stage. Skriniar has really improved over the last 12 months and he has the physicality to be successful at EPL unlike maybe De Vrij.

With the seemingly unlimited funds at Man Utd, Conte can go after his top priority targets that he couldn't get at Inter - players like SMS for example.

But when I realized who we're talking about I told him to brace himself for a recipe of demands which are: very high budget, no interference, full control of the squad and zero expectations to win anything within the first two seasons.


Those were pretty much his demands when Marotta approached him in January when he was thinking of sacking Spalletti, with one of the most important demands being to "not expect a CL spot". Which Spallo actually delivered in this typical fashion at Inter


Apparently Levy told Conte that he'll have £100m to spend in the market in January. And Conte liked that. They probably agreed on everything else as well.

The main difference between Mou and Conte approach in people management is that Mou tries to "recruit" soldiers from within his squad, whereas Conte wants to "drill" everyone till their lungs collapse. It works in Italy to a larger degree since players are more professional about football, but at teams like Manchester United and Tottenham this is a recipe for disaster. If Dele Alli couldn't hit it off with Mourinho, I believe he'll get suicidal with Conte.

There's a reason why the only player from Conte's Chelsea who likes the guy is Azpilicueta. I don't think he'll find more of those at Tottenham.

Levy spending 100m pounds in a single transfer window? Where's the catch? I will believe it when i see it. Unless Levy has in mind to "allow" Conte to spend all the funds from Kane sale.

I look at Spurs squad and they're even more unfit than Man Utd to play with a back 3. This is how they could look under Conte:

Lloris
Romero - Dier - Sanchez
Emerson - Hojberg - Skipp - Ndombele - Reguillon
Kane - Son

They need a squad overhaul to compete with the top dogs in EPL. We're talking about huge investments. Not even 100m net spent would be enough. It would be a career suicide for Conte to go there.

Anyway, Conte to Spurs would be great news for us. I doubt any of our players would leave Inter for freaking Tottenham. We should also try to poach Lo Celso as i can't see a future for him at Spurs under Conte.
