Parma was clever. They knew that we were exhausted so the coach played Karamoh Gervinho and Kulusevski together and started the game very offensive. We were mentaly and physically not prepared for this. Only in the second half when Conte gave new instructions we managed to play better. While Parma was already a litle bit exhausted after giving all in the first half, specialy Karamoh who doesen't have 90 minutes in he's legs.

Thats why i don't really think that the team had pressure after Lecce-Juve. Both Juve and Inter had a hard week. And it was clear that Juve would not win soon or later. They have a lot of quality but no real game plan. It's almost a miracle that this is only theyre second draw, they alawys win by 1 goal in the last minutes and concede a lot of chances (specialy because of Chiellini missing)

Particularly for that game our bench was shit. Esposito, Politano, papa Valero + not fully fitted Asamoah doesn't look like as more than adequate.
The discussion here is about the roster. If we are unlucky enough to have 4-5 guys unavailable it's another story.

We've always had these troubles in the Moratti years. For example you had Ronaldo, Vieri, Baggio, Recoba, Zamorano and the strikers available were Ventola and Mutu. Or Kallon and Martins when there was Crespo, Vieri, Recoba etc.

We've always attributed that to some sort of curse

We are doing just fine considering the injuries, also we will have big problems with pacey wingers and it just happens that Parma have two that did enough damage to us. Before the game I said that I don't mind a draw, just don't lose and keep stacking the points. That's all we need to do, keep up with Juventus, even if we don't win the league, at least reach second or third place comfortably. We are on the right track, filling our squad with more quality is the next step so our bench doesn't look so poor.
A good one

I think Conte could have won but by starting Lukaku instead of Espo, delaying Esposito's subbing in and subbing in Politano who is toothless, he probably wanted to send a message to Inter's management that Inter needs major reinforcements. This is corroborated by what he said before and after the match.

Conte is spot on. We practically have no bench. This is due to some bad luck (Sanchez) and making transfers that could've been better. I did't like spending so much on Lukaku, and I didn't like letting Miranda go to China while switching to 3-man defense line. I also don't know why would anyone start a season with Candreva and Politano. I guess that there's no budget left after spending so much on other players.
I have to agree. I didn’t like us spending so much on Lukaku and also didn’t want to let go of Miranda.

Taking off Lautaro instead of Lukaku was a huge mistake.

Lautaro was tired but Conte seemed to be hoping that Inter would be awarded a penalty kick and this would help make signing Lukaku more digestible. Spalletti was hurt by signing Nainggolan and Conte is in the same situation with Lukaku.

I can't help but think that everything he's asking Lukaku to do, Belotti would be better at.

My guess is he whined indoors first; it didn't work; so now he's whining outdoors :) . Whether the use of such tactics is appropriate is debatable, but if a little Zhang-shaming leads to reinforcements in January then I'm all for it :D

We've always attributed that to some sort of curse

You're laughing? It is a curse, black magic voodoo casted by a hired wizard by one of our most hated rivals.

Anyway, I think we're in serious trouble atm checking our schedule in November till the holidays, I think at this rate of fitness decline and growing number of injured players we'll be destroyed by January and we might resort to 5-6 primavera players to be starters not even back ups.

Check this out:

29-10 Brescia away
2-11 Bologna away
5-11 Borussia Dortmund away CL
9-11 Hellas Verona home

International -more legs- break-ing

23-11 Torino away
27-11 Slavia Brag away CL
1-12 Spal home
6-12 Roma home
10-12 Barcelona home CL
15-12 Fiorentina away
22-12 Genoa home

The holidays until 5-1-2020 Napoli away

Imvho it's going to be a miracle if by January we're still in top 4 with that very tight and not so easy schedule considering our depthless squad and the injury spree John Wick (boogeyman).

We might be able to pick ourselves up when we go out of the CL in 10-12 vs Barca and start collecting more points in the second phase of the league, but too early to discuss that now.

I haven't been on the forum in over a month or so, since our whatsapp group is so BOMB.

But I came back to have a look...

What do I see?

Apparently our transfers were shite.
Our team is not ready.
Our subs are not world-class enough.
Conte doesn't trust the management.
Icardi is the best player in the world.

We are second in Serie A by a point.
Providing what happens in Germany, we are in a great spot to make our impact in the group of death.

FFS ya'll so fucking salty.

I just went to the Milan forums...guess what they're saying? The same as above.

Come on gents. Man up.

It feels strange that I am going to defend Conte here, when I always hated his needless moaning. But in this case, I think Marcotti & Co are being too harsh on him. Our squad is wafer thin, and everyone can see the huge difference between starting XI quality and bench quality. Conte may have been pivotal in Inter getting rid of Icardi, Perisic & Nainggolan, but I am sure he was expecting a couple of more players to be bought (i.e. Dzeko & Vidal). Inter skimping on that last bit (maybe 60-70m more spend) may be the difference between a scudetto challenge and just another top 4 season.

Conte did not have a say in getting rid of Icardi and Nainggolan. He did request to get rid of Perisic after their falling out though.

It was clear from the onset of the season that with a shallow squad, we would struggle to succeed in 3 competitions. My expectations of Conte are less about what he wins and more about what he develops moving forward. The core of our team is ~ 24 years old so there is alot of promise and alot of work to be done, but I'm looking forward to it.

I think we have had this argument before. Unless someone has some first hand info from Conte/Marotta, its fair to assume that even the Icardi and Nainggolan moves had Conte's stamp of approval. Conte is a control freak, and those moves fit in well with his discipline at any cost philosophy. Nianggolan admitted this recently, that he appreciated Conte saying it to his face that he (Conte) supports the decision to let 9G go. Maybe one or both of these moves were initiated by Marotta (specially in Icardashian's case), but its fair to assume that Conte was at least in agreement.

In fact, I won't be surprised if both those moves were a pre-condition by Conte, and Marotta publicly took the decision upon himself to protect the coach from any dressing room drama. And Perisic decision was clearly all Conte.

Conte wanted to evaluate both Icardi and Nainggolan but he received a veto from the management and the condition was that he could pick their replacement. He got Lukaku, which took us all summer to conclude and not even at a discount as we succumbed to Man Utd's demands, and because of this we didn't manage to get a replacement for Nainggolan where SMS, Rakitic and Vidal were the alternatives.

Conte demanded Lukaku over the midfielder first so the fact that the management couldn't conclude both deals despite of Icardi& Nainggolan future just shows a big failure of strategy altogether.

We had got Barella, there was also Sensi and we didn't sell Vecino, Gagliardini and/or Valero as planned so arguably it made sense to go for the striker first. But we all know there was no real need for this. The management took a big risk that could have set us back many years and it probably will hit us at some point within the next 2 seasons (incl this one)
