Well, the agent of Rudiger just came out and declared that we have made him an offer, so it's time for a thread:

The agent of Roma defender Antonio Rudiger confirms that Inter have made an ‘important offer’ for his client.

Multiple reports have linked the Germany international with a move away from Rome this summer.

The 24-year-old's representative was also asked about rumours Luciano Spalletti was heading to the Nerrazurri next term, after news of Stefano Pioli’s sacking broke last night.

"I confirm that there has been a very important Inter offer,” agent Alexander Bergweiler told FCInter1908.it.

“Any assessment by Toni and Roma will be made in the summer.

“Will he link up with [Luciano] Spalletti at Inter? We heard the rumours. (laughs)”

Juan also plays about as regularly for Roma. Bad players can look good in better defences, I don't think inserting Rudiger to our defence would have him play near the high price we're going to overpay for him.

You said it yourself, you described him as "better than our defenders", which quite a very low standard, and that for 40m, how is that a good deal?

Meanwhile few months ago we were linked to one of the best defenders in the league in Manolas and his rumored price was 42m. The point is we do waaaay better with the money we have. Him playing in a team that regularly destroys us means zero shit, this season he is playing alongside two of the best defenders in the league, and away better midfield around him.

Antonio Rudiger’s brother claims the agent who confirmed an Inter offer no longer works for the defender. “He is happy at Roma.”

Alexander Bergweiler told FCInter1908.it “there has been a very important Inter offer. Any assessment by Toni and Roma will be made in the summer.”

However, just hours later, Rudiger’s brother went on Roma Radio to deny everything.

“I am the only person who can speak publicly about Antonio Rudiger’s future. He is happy at Roma and has a contract until June 2020.

“This person who spoke on his behalf no longer collaborates with me and is not authorised to speak on Antonio’s behalf.”

Technically, Rudiger’s brother did not deny the existence of a Nerazzurri proposal, as it could be that the club made the approach via out-dated information.

There's a chance Linea Inter is a reliable source. Apparently they had reported Sabatini hiring by Suning since March. I don't remember reading about it in any other source.
