I don't understand why people are getting so worked up against this. Vidal on a free will be a good deal, even if he fades away after a season. Vidal will be a great example for young Barella to learn from in training and on the pitch.

I look at this Vidal deal as an upgrade on Valero. What I am more concerned about is how much money do we have in budget to spend on the mercato (from the sounds of it, looks like we don't have much) and who do we spend the big money on.

We are all sad about Tonali but fuck Vidal is better then him currently you guys need to get a grip. Vidal is a winner and Barca fans loved him his first season there. He will be fantastic for us as be knows how to play contes system. Also, most of you guys are the same ones who bitched about Ashley young and he ended being one of our better players thought the season

Was about 6 months ago where he made our entire team look like amateurs. He can definitely still play, but if he's our main target, then we will eventually be short of our objectives assuming one is the scudetto.

On a free transfer with a two year contract is fine. This way when we fire Conte before next season we're only stuck with Vidal for one more year.

Why should he? Hes not European.

Eder, Vasquez, Camoranesi, Motta, Diego Costa?

Messi is Italian by heritage, could've obtained citizenship if he wanted to. He certainly has obtained a Spanish one long ago. So not being born in Europe is not a valid reason.

Every deal in isolation looks fine for older players. Until you then start to add them up. We have sanchez on high wages for multi-years. Godin. Asamoah. Young. Ninja. Perisic.

On top of that, the perennial deadweights like dalbert and ciao mario.

You go add Vidal on something massive (9-10), add kante on something massive, kolarov and whoever else...

:lol::lol::lol:
guaranteed disaster

edit:
I should add eriksen (10M) as deadweight contract tbh :yao2:

Young has one year left. Same with Godin and asamoah I believe? Some club somewhere would sign Godin and sanchez for their profile. Same with vidal. Not worried about that.
More worried about the Mario's dalbert etc as you mention

Could you add the remaining years on the contracts of the players you just named? I have a feeling that since Marotta came the older players are always on pretty short contracts of maximum 2 years.

Sanchez 3 years, Godin 2 years left, Asamoah 1 year, Young 1 year, Ninja 2 years, Perisic 2 years.

Dalbert 3 years, Ciao Mario 2 years

We need to get rid of some of these for sure. Wages for most of these players are high, some of them way too high given their input.

Vidal for 2 years is fine if he can give 2 years, and I don't see him not giving 2 good years. If the option for 3rd is for both to decide, not for Vidal alone (would be idiotic) it's a fine contract offer.

For dalbert we already accepted an offer from turkey according to GDS, pretty sure JM is gonna stay put at Lokomotiv as he had a good season as far as i know his BV should not be much above 10 mio and lok has the money. Ninja imho is only a game of chicken to see how much we can get out of cagliari he only wants them and i dont see any other team come in with a big bid plus we dont want him here.
Young is a pretty cheap LB no matter how you look at it and his contract will expire at the end of the season.
Perisic again i dont think it will be a problem to find a club that is willing to pay above his BV dude had a good season and theres enough BL teams that could afford him.

I m not saying it s easy to get rid of all of em but with the current valued they have on our books it should be possible.

The problem with that list are not the oldies like Young, it are the bad-buys/renewals like Ninja, Dalbert, J.Mario... Some cases are unlucky like Perisic and partly Godin.
A 2 years contract for Vidal and 1+1 for Kolarov like it's being reported is pretty fine.

The situation is a lot better if he really does come free although I am concerned about potential injuries

I wanted him when he was in Germany before Juve. Man if we had gotten him instead of Guarin or Ricky Alvarez

I m pretty sure Vidal would not be the same player he is now if we signed him back then. Sounds dumb but our Team was a fucken circus back than and vidal was what 24? While not extremely young still young and with his personality i think/believe he needed a strong strict environment and ya ll know he would not have found this here.

Let me say it like this if the roles of guarin and Vidal were reversed I m not sure we would not be in the exact same situation telling our selfes we went for the wrong one when in fact it was our circus of a cub that made it extremely difficult for young players to thrive and develop.

In the last 2 seasons vidal has missed 2 games due to injury according to Transfermarkt Injury history.

2 grapes, who cares.

It bothers me when people keep saying he's injury prone, Kolarov too. These players miss virtually no games-- they both have really sturdy physiques. There's a chance it could be this year but the evidence hasn't shown it yet.
