Wow, absolutely loved Inter today. Great performance in a tough away game. We controlled the game so well after taking an early lead.
Lukaku was IMMENSE today. I don't get the criticism on this thread at all. This guy was the focal point of all our attacks, held up the ball well and generally has decent link up play. MOTM for me.
Young also could be in with a shout for MOTM, specially with his first half performance and hand in both goals. Glad we have him in the squad for next season, he adds valuable experience and quality.
Brozovic also had a very good game. This is more like the Brozovic of the first half of the season. Was everywhere and instrumental in us controlling the game. Barella and Gagliardini also did their job in the midfield, though the later needs to improve on his passing - some really shite passing there. All defenders did their job too with no fuckups.
Conte gets a lot of credit for the way he set up the team today. Some people see him always play 3-5-2 and assume that we don't tactically adapt for a specific opponent. Formation isn't the entirety of tactics. Today is a good example of that. Perfect line up - I was a bit concerned to see Godin start at RCM with Dumbo at RWB, but it soon became obvious why - they shut down Gosens.
All in all, loved it. I hope we can play with similar composure in the future. Yes, finishing just 1 point behind Juve flatters us - the gap in reality is bigger. But if we get 2-3 quality buys in this window, we could challenge for the scudetto till the end next season.
