Really, throwing words around like "scared" This is the elite club football competition, players live for these nights. Its the best of the best, and if anyone suggest their scared should not be watching. It's almost embarrassing to hear such rhetoric.

We go into the games as favourites and rightly so. And Greizeman? The guy is finished, and has been for a couple of years. This is not Barca Dynasty or the Galaticos...

I expect to go through, actually I demand it. If we dont it is failure of the team.

Bro you're in FIF. Do you know the history of this forum? The norm is you either have to be 100% positive or a nagging nancy here. And any sort of objectional positivity would be called jinxing, overconfidence and underestimating the opponent.

I kinda don't care. Our objective was Scudetto. It would be great to do finals again, but anyways. And Atletico is a shit team anyways. The only thing can do to injure our players.
You don't care about the clubs financial stability? Wtf?

So you've seen then, max, in five games this season? Your forming an opinion based on having seen them play five games from a team that's played, I dunno, close to 40 games by now?

You immediately rule out any credibility to your posts when you say that. You're far more familiar with our weaknesses while being blissfully ignorant to whatever weaknesses Atlético has.

You want some facts?

InterAtlético
League Postion1st4th
Record (points)24-3-1 (75)17-4-7 (55)
Record (all comps)30-5-224-6-11
Goals scored (all comps)81 (37 GP)82 (41 GP)
Goals allowed (all comps)2049
+/- (all comps)+61+33
Last 10 games (W-D-L) (all comps)10-0-0 (+20 GD)3-2-5 (-1 GD)

Nobody's saying a 1-0 agg lead going on the road in the 2nd leg is a done deal, but quit making Atleti seem better than they are. This is not mid-2010s Atleti that was impossible to breach and had some fantastic Champions League triumphs. Furthermore, there's no reason to be doubting our capabilities. +61 goal difference overall, it's the best in Europe. Our overall body of work has been incredible, and Inzaghi's record in cup competitions speaks for itself.

Btw, one other thing that I couldn't even really include in that table...everybody talks about Atleti's fantastic home record in the last 13 months or so. It's true, they've lost only one home game all season, in addition to one other game which ended in a draw. You know how many away games we've lost this season? Zero. We dropped points away to Juventus and Genoa in Serie A + Real Sociedad and Benfica in the group stage, and that's it. Every other away game we've played this season has ended in a win.
Well, based on performances against Real, this season, I saw that they are team capable to not just beat, but smash one of the best teams in the world. Did we beat this season any team that is Real Madrid caliber? Stop underrating Atletico and overrating us. Yea, we are performing great in the league, but does that prove that we should be favorites against Atletico? I saw us struggle against friggin Sociedad, at home with our best team, and Atletico is much stronger than Sociedad, better roster, players and coach. I really hope you are right.

We always struggle against that kind of press, Real Sociedad will forever be the type of team we will have issues, unless our coach makes certain changes.

While Atletico is a good team, what I'm really worries against them is injuries and card fishing from Atletico. They are a dirty team and that's what they do when they can't win normally. I'm sure we can go blow for blow if they play normal football, but as soon as they'll start throwing themselves on the floor, it's going to be their game. They will try to influence the referee for SURE.

Referee is Marciniak, who was the ref in CL final against City and also in the last World Cup final. I think he's no-bullshit ref and doesn't fall under pressure. Only big mistake he's done was for Mbappe and against Newcastle when Livramento allegedly made a handball foul against PSG in CL group stage (it was a complete bullshit call, even VAR used and everything). I would say that "mistake" was partly pressured so that PSG and Mbappe goes through to the next round.

There is no such stars in this matchup and teams aren't super fancy, everyone's favourite teams so there is no leaning towards the more popular side, like unfortunately happened in that PSG-Newcastle match.

And if anything, this kind of ref probably helps the more "playing" team more which I would say is Inter.

Only thing we need to remember is who's the ref and not start playing the dive game and let Atletico do that because I think in CL that rarely works as well and refs like Marciniak rather let's the game flow than blow the whistle.

Scudetto is done. Why should someone watch a season without having any another dreams? in coppa we are out, so CL remains as last trophy. And this team could go really far if they continue playing this way.

I'm saying, I'm just not sweating over this. Inter is a twice better team than Atletico.

I do. You may have missed the part that I said I wish we could go to the finals again.
Yeah, but you still said you don't care? That one I don't understand. We need reach at least the quarterfinals at minimum so that hopefully we don't have to sell anybody this season. The more we fuck around in lucrative situations (CL, sponsors), the bigger the chance Lautaro or Barella or Bastoni will be sold instead of staying at Inter.

So I care, very, very much. I know I said I don't see Lautaro being clutch in CL, but I'd rather see him grow here and become that player than sell him and he becomes the next Robben (a player that was winning everything later in his career)

I don't care sweating like teenager before every damn game.
Those 3 guys that you mentioned are going nowhere, even if we lose the game today.

I'm not overrating shit. We're one of the very best teams in Europe and I'm acting like it. No impostor syndrome BS. We haven't beaten a club of Real Madrid's calibre, we also haven't had the chance to do so. That's also a major rivalry game for Atleti - their biggest rival - so they're always geared up for that game.

There's being respectful towards the threat Atlético poses - I think I've consistently expressed that - and then there's acknowledging that everything points to us being the better side and acting accordingly. I'm not going to hide from high expectations and high hopes. If I end up crushed in the end, I'll deal with it.

But we did play them not long ago. And we played City too (altho that loss was very promising). So far, we fell short.

This Inter is very good, but we need to beat Atletico first. That's the only thing that matters right now.

I feel bad for De Vrij, but maybe Acerbi is the best one for dealing with Morata.
