I personally don't believe Messi should be there, because I don't think he's in contention to win it. It should be close between Ronaldo and Neuer, with Neuer winning it.

I don't think Neuer deserves that spot ahead of Müller,Lahm or Robben. One German just had to be there because they won the world cup. I think Ronaldo will take it while Messi and Neuer are about equal but still way behind Ronaldo.

Neuer wasn't even the best GK in the world cup, so, winning the world cup argument is a bit strange. Germany would have won it with or without him, Bayern would win the league with a 16 year old in the goal. Not taking anything from him, he's probably the best GK in the world atm, not by much if you ask me though. But def not close to being best of all time as Ronaldo and Messi are.

Messi just broke 2 record that probably would never be broken in our lifetime, how the hell does Neuer deserves it more?

Agree with the best above, Muller should have been on the list instead, amazing player and IMO he should have also won the best of player award in the WC.

The comp is unfair to GKs - the best of them will usually play in the best clubs so they won't have many chances to outshine other players, like players in other positions, no GK should ever get on the list unless he's really the best of all time and single handedly wins his team trophies

IMO Robben should have been in top 3. Not surprising seeing Neuer there after all the hype and so many articles saying why Neuer should win it. He is not among top 3 players this year and shouldn't be anywhere near the list.

Ronaldo, Messi, Robben all performed better than him this year and also Modric who was the best CM in the world.

Also not sure if ever Atletico Madrid players gets any recognition. This FIFA/UEFA award is nothing but a Madrid Barca wank fest. Even the best 11 is full of Madrid Barca players and defenders like Ramos, Dani Alves, Pique were nominated for best defender category

I do agree that Robben should be there instead of Messi or Neuer. Ronaldo should win it altho he is a little bitch, he is still an unstoppable goal machine right now, Robben should be second and the third place doesn't even matter. Di Maria maybe? Strong Wc and amazing spring.

Messi had a 'bad' season, was injured a lot and he still bagged a lot of goals, assists and was instrumental in reaching a world cup final while hardly running at all. That is how good he really is.
