He is. For now at least, maybe things change before the January window.

I'm sure Conte would rather start Sensi - if that guy was entirely fit.

We still don't know the actual line up for sure.

INTER (3-4-1-2): 1 Handanovic; 37 Skriniar, 6 de Vrij, 95 Bastoni; 36 Darmian, 23 Barella, 77 Brozovic, 14 Perisic; 24 Eriksen; 9 Lukaku, 7 Sanchez.

Reported by Inter website. Looks like we're back to the 3-4-1-2.

Because there are 3 types of supporters here on FIF:

1) The ones that started supporting Inter cos of Ronaldo: when you start supporting a club because of a player, in this case a superstar, it’s a recipe for disaster because you don’t have any real affection towards the club. Because of Ronaldo’s injuries his time here wasn’t near as memorable as should have so they still have a bitter taste and never got to experience what they really came here for even all those years later

2) The people who started supporting Inter when we started winning: By far the worst set of supporters. During Rube’s demise and Milan’s decline we ended up being the dominant team in Italy and this made us attract a set of supporters who unfortunately only care about one thing: winning. They experienced it for 5 years but when it stopped they lost almost all the love for the club. They are frustrated with Inter, they probably get mocked by their friends with every bad result we have and their eternal wish is to change clubs and start supporting someone else but are too embarrassed to do so because they’ll be mocked forever.

3) People who started supporting Inter after the Treble: Winning the champions league especially in the manner in which we did beating the champions of Germany, champions of England and of course the champions of Spain and arguably the greatest team of all time with of course such a charismatic manager like Mourinho brought us a certain set of supporters. I feel bad for these guys I’ll be honest because they never got to experience success. 11 years later and they still haven’t. All they can remember is a Coppa Italia. And of course those real real ugly times. I can sympathize with the, but at the same time these set of supporters are the whiniest, they complain about everything . When I say everything I mean EVERYTHING.

Ha, I always thought masochists were our main type of supporter! :yao:

Though it didn't sound like it when Conte spoke about him the other day.

I hope we play that rather than a trequartista, as Brozovic operates best alone. Don't see why Eriksen can't play in cm when Sensi could.

I hope it's 3-5-2. 3-4-1-2 isn't going to work. Never has. It doesn't suit Conte's gameplan and it doesn't suit our players.

Yeah. Strangely enough, the Twitter lists this:

In case some of you hadn't noticed - when the name of the left wingback is right in front of the strikers (Perisic, Lukaku) that has always referred to as playing 3-5-2. That would suggest us playing that formation today. But the official Inter website lists 3-4-1-2 (which would normally be shown by putting Eriksen behind the strikers).

I guess we'll only find out while the game is underway.

It doesn't suit arguably our most important player: Brozovic.

For me this is where the Eriksen problem starts. Conte was certain almost from the start Eriksen can't be a part of a midfield trio while Eriksen had played in that role many times at Tottenham and he usually was among their top performers in distance covered. Instead he decided to switch to a system that doesn't suit the team.

He looked done but CL elimination could change things. For example, if Conte was told there's no money for January transfer market then perhaps Conte isn't going to ostracize a player just for the sake of it.

Damn you Cunte. I swear I didn't want to watch this game, but I really want to see Eriksen unleashed and showing a big middle finger towards Cunte.

Forza Inter, Forza Eriksen, Fuck you Cunte :finger:

Nah,he's resting Gags for big game against Napoli...
Hakimi instead Darmian and Darmian instead Perišić. That would be ideal. Hope Eriksen plays well today. And of course we need to win this.

And now the sad cunt comes crawling back to Eriksen after 9 minutes where he outperformed almost everyone else in the team  Truly pathetic, Conte.

I want to hope that energetic cameo against Shakhtar, and the start that it earned him, will be the turning of the corner for Eriksen. But I'm more pessimistic tbh.

For one, Eriksen came on against Shakhtar when the structure of the game had disintegrated into some frantic, panicked and desperate all-out offense (something we see too often). Much credit to him, he completely kept his cool and did good work amidst the chaos of that shitshow.

But firstly, against Cagliari, we're not going to race out the blocks like that. Chances are, the game will start off a lot more cagey - certainly compared to the last 10 minutes of Inter v Shakhtar.

If we play the same turgid dogshit as usual, Eriksen will struggle. If we stand around playing this "all roads lead to Rom" strategy and the usual "complainball", Eriksen will be unable to make any impact - and I'm sure Conte will be ecstatic to take that as vindication and an excuse to re-bench him for the remainder of the season.

The team as a whole needs to play with positive intent and a decent tempo. We need to make good offensive exchanges and movements from the start.

Secondly though, Conte is setting him up to fail in this forsaken 3412 which has systematic, fundamental flaws.

I've gone on about just playing Eriksen as CM in the 352 since before he was even signed, but it's true that distance covered isn't enough.

While Eriksen runs a lot, it's generally very light screening. Compare that to Vidal's combativeness in the midfield. At least 2 of our goals in our 4-2 comeback win over Torino came from Vidal physically battling in midfield, winning the ball, and initiating an attack.

That's what Conte wants from his CM's and it seems that's why he won't play Eriksen there. I understand it to an extent, but I still think he should just fucking suck it up and play Eriksen as LCM in the 352 flat. The inherent weaknesses of the 3412 far outweigh any problems stemming from a loss of physicality due to playing Eriksen as CM. :palm:
