IMO from now on Zanetti needs to play as a wing back.......i don't care if that means you have to bench Maicon or Nagatomo but we can't afford to waste another Midfield position......and we saw the effects of having an active midfield vs Genoa

I think the easiest way to do it is start Maicon RB & Zanetti LB then sub out maicon switch zanetti to that side and put in nagatomo for the extra energy when we need it

but i really don't want to see Zanetti as a midfielder anymore =/

I think it's pretty much in Stramaccioni's mind.
When he said he wanted a lot of running in midfield then having Zanetti in midfield along with Stankovic will make no sense.
Sure Zanetti covers a lot of ground, but he's too defensive minded to play in midfield, he rarely makes attacking movements, and he always plays safe whenever he can.

I expect Stramaccioni to put Zanetti in left-back when Maicon starts playing again.

Let's hope we win this one, Lazio and Udine draws and we MIGHT have a chance for a CL spot.

Don't need explenation. :)

But Cagliari has problems with the town and as protest they play pretty much as far away from Cagliari as possible, I haven't bothered to go deep into it.

I wonder what the issues are on the island.

I've heard Triestina has had virtual fans with their low attendance being in Serie C1 the last few years and B for the longest time.

Will this stadium be empty or have more interisti in it since it's across the water and in the same region as Udinese?

I suspect a lot of us Slovenians and Croatians (and maybe other ex-yu states people or Austrians since Villach and Klagenfurt are not too far away) are gonna come to the match and since it is nearer (and cheaper!) to Milano then Sardegna I think people from Milano are going to come too. I don't think there's a lot of Interisti in Frilui-Venezia-Giulia area, but I think a half-full stadium of Interisti should not be a problem ;)

When I was looking at the map, I really did think it was in Slovenia seeing how it's at the border. I didn't realize Italy had a tiny bit of land there.

The reason is simply becouse their "stadium" sucks and it's still impracticable (that's why most of the cagliari games this year were played in an almost empty stadium)

http://www.stadiumguide.com/cagliari-wants-to-play-home-matches-in-trieste/

Stadium Guide said:
Cagliari Calcio has sent an official request to the council of Trieste to play its last four home matches at Stadio Nereo Rocco in the city of Trieste. The matches would include the home fixtures against Internazionale and Juventus.

The move is a next step in the dispute between Cagliari president Massimo Cellino and the city of Cagliari relating to the new stadium Cagliari wants to build near the airport.

The club has the plans and financing ready for a move to the new site, however protests from airport regulator ENAC, which feels the stadium is too close to the airport, have halted progress and are threatening the entire project.

In the meantime, Cagliari is forced to play on at its delapidated Stadio San’Elia, which hardly meets safety requirements. The stadium, built in 1970, was originally bowl-shaped, but three make-shift stands have been built on the athletics tracks, which has resulted in an odd sight.

Parts of the stadium have been closed since the match against Fiorentina in late January, resulting in a reduced capacity of just 14,250 seats.

In a move that is likely aimed at provoking the Cagliari city council, Cellino has now decided that enough is enough and requested to play the last of Cagliari’s home matches in Trieste, a city in the north-east of the country and almost 1,000 kilometres away from the island of Sardegna.

The move may however also be necessary to protect the club from possible penalties from the Serie A, as the reduced capacity is below the regulatory minimum of 20,000 for Serie A games.

The secretary of sport of Trieste has already reacted positively to the request, though problems may arise for the last fixture against Juventus when Triestina, permanent occupant of the stadium and currently playing in the Lega Pro, has a home match on the same day.

Stadio Nereo Rocco opened in 1992 and can hold just under 30,000 spectators. President Cellino is said to have become impressed by the stadium when Cagliari played a Coppa Italia match at the ground two years ago.

It seems that Cagliari mayor Zedda and president Cellino have come to an agreement and that Cagliari will play its last matches at the Stadio Sant’Elia after all.
