but he was supposed to be 'best fullback in turkish league', 'Telles is nothing compared to him', 'has a brain with his left foot', and 'a bargain for his quality' blivious: and our management was right to sacrifice Telles for him blivious:
Really would have preferred keeping Alex Telles instead of fucking around with guys like Erkin and Nagatomo.
I repeat, Telles was shite. Did you watch any games last season? It's Juan who we should have hung onto.
Regardless of his performances/trainings, Telles is a naturally skilled and talented footballer.
Nagatomo, on the other hand, is just your athlete friend who works hard in trainings with no natural footballing talent whatsoever. You can get any athlete from other sports to do what Nagatomo is doing. That is, he offers little as an all-around football player but more as a hard-working athlete.
What I think the reason behind keeping Nagatomo over Telles this summer was Mancini's preference of hard-working players over naturally skilled ones. I can't think of other logical reasons. Erkin probably fits into Nagatomo's category since he came during Mancini's era to replace Telles, while FDB doesn't want players like that.
So we give a no name Turkish player 2.2 million a year we don't want. But Bro wants to upgrade his 1.2 million wage and is an asshole? Think he is making more then Murillo as well.
I'm no fan of Nagatomo - he's fine as a versatile backup though - but nonetheless he was simply better than Telles in the second half of last season. This love-in for Telles makes me laugh, no point have all this technical ability & a magic left foot if you can't fucking use it. Telles after showing some early promise ending up not be able to cross a ball & he was a total fairy boy when it came to defending, something Juan certainly never was. You boys may not remember these performances but I sure do. So you wanted to drop 10m on this guy? lmao! You be the boys who are smoking some strange stuff. Btw I watched him against Roma last week, no impact accept for more overhit & wayward crosses.
