SE SALTELLI....
Granted, it's unusual from first glance but when you factor in how they score the players, it's quite compelling actually...It gives you some insight into how we rank players to begin with...My guess is that this scoring system will continue to be tweaked but there's never been anything quite like it

actually there has, it started a very long time ago(not castrol sponsored by someone else). people dissmissed it then cause it was bullshit, and they are doing the same now for the same reason.

With his 2 goals last night, Milito has notched up 20 places in the Castrol ranking.

From #123 to #103 just behind the clinical Amauri.

Btw I was just joking on the Milito - Amauri thing. :D

Won't be surprised if that's the case though. Anyway, it's a good concept, very interesting. But they surely need to modify their co-efficients and such this season.

It'll be pretty Goddamn impossible to give these rankings to players though. How do you rate the work that Eto'o has done for Inter lately, for example? Like when he drew out Demichelis to ensure that he cannot move and help Van Buyten.

It's a good concept, impossible to do, and is just a marketing gimmick.

VICTOR MONTANO
ROBIN VAN PERSIE
MEVLUT ERDING
GERVINHO
STEFAN KIEßLING
JOSEBA LLORENTE
DIRK KUYT
IRENEUSZ JELEN
DIMITAR BERBATOV
ROBERTO SOLDADO

THIERRY HENRY
LUCAS BARRIOS
ALBERTO GILARDINO
MARIO GOMEZ
NICOLAS ANELKA
EDIN DZEKO

I do not know what you expect from him. How is he supposed to compete with Darren Bent, Jermain Defoe, Luca Toni, Ibrahimovic, etc.??

Yeah, they give too much weighting to the league the player is playing. Italy is behind England, Spain and Germany in their ranking and it seems the weighting for the league is way too big. There is no other explanation for that since Milito has delivered in UEFA CL knockout stage which is the at the top of the league ranking.

  1. UEFA Champions League Knockout stage
  2. UEFA Champions League Group Stage
  3. Spain La Liga Primera Division
  4. England Premier league
  5. Germany Bundesliga
  6. Italy Serie A
  7. France Ligue 1
It would be okay if UEFA knockout stage as the first one in the list has some more weighting than the rest of the list. I mean yeah, EPL might be harder than Serie A and La Liga, but the difference of the weighting shouldn't be as big as it clearly seems to be.

I hate these ratings so much, what do they base it on lmfao? Also the fact that goal.com always mentions them, which makes it worse.

Come on guys, stop talking about them. It's a BS stuff for glory-hunter fans. It's a disgrace for our forum to talk about those rankings here
