Thread hasn't been made yet, but the game is midweek. So we need a thread for this game.
Very important game IMO, because:
1- After this game, we have a tough schedule.
2- We struggle against these farkers, Forza Hellas!
3- Refer to 1: can't afford to drop points.
4- Some players might be making their returns (ie- Solari, Samuel e Burdisso)

I doubt Nicolas will take any part in the game, but if he does..this is the game I'd play him. Ze Maria, I'd let take the home matches where he afford to make some risky forward runs, but away matches I'd very much rather the more defensive minded Burdisso. Once Nicolas is back in full swing, him over Ze Maria any day.

Solari, Mancio said he'll most likely take some part. Good decision to play him now, rather than taking a big risk against a challenger in Fiorentina, giving Stan or most likely Figo a deserved rest. Same goes for Adriano, that is if he wants to rest up.
Samuel should play IMO. Matrix and Cordoba have been okay but likewise Solari, I'd rather Samuel get back in the swing of Serie A against a average team rather than a good one in Fiorentina. Pizarro should play too, it's his turn if it is a 1 game rotation.

Good points catanha, I'd personally rest Adriano and play Cruz+Martins. I think Veron should start as well, after all he provided 2 assists against Lecce, we need him.

Considering this is an away game, I think Mancio could well play Samuel+Matrix, with Cordoba on the right.

It's very important to win, otherwise we might start to think that we'll drop too many points in away games to compete for the scudetto.

Well I don't think Burdisso will be fit enough. I don't think Figo or Stankovic should be dropped, so no Solari, but Walter Samuel should definitely start.

Rest Adriano so he can be fresh for Fiorentina. Give Veron a rest too and maybe let Cristiano Zanetti replace Cambiasso, but not putting Cambiasso's name in an inter line-up just goes against my mentality.

Cruz deserves a start. Players should be used based on form, not reputation or wage.

D'Anna got a red card today, so he won't play. Another thing I gathered from today's match is that all of Chievo's goal were scored by defenders off crosses.

So, I'd rather go with the risky Cordoba on the right. ZM was struggling defensively yesterday, although Figo was playing well. But it's hard to tell, Lecce had no offensive plan whatsoever. Mancini talked about Favalli not being able to play every game, so I guess Wome will play this one.

Also, Cruz is a must for this one. Fontana is a great GK for ground balls, but is less so with headers, due to his height. So, I prefer to play ZM as a RW, and Solari as a LW, resting both Figo and Stan for the Fiore game. However, I wouldn't mind seeing Stan as a LW.

I think Recoba should start this one as well. We will need his long-shots that go up-top, and it's about time he gets another chance.

So well an important game i think we should change some team coz were having a wery though week.
I think Veron should rest coz Pizarro has to get in form fore CL game. I realy hope that Samuel plays he has to get some playing time and matrix did not do too good against Lecce. On Favalli i think he did great against lecce, but if he s not fit Wome is fine, he ll foresure fight till the end against he s ex club.
I realy hope that Figo plays again coz he did great against Lecce but still need s to adapt to serie a. I dont know if Solari is alredy fit fore 90 min. but he just has to get some playing time.
Cruz realy has to start this one he s just in great form at the moment, i think Adriano should rest. I don t know about Martins i think if we play him 90 min we have to rest him against Fiore so lets give Recoba a chance

I would luv to rest Adriano and then UNLEASH hell on Fiorentina and After that Juve...More importantly Juve ofcourse.

By the way Adriano setting up other players like he did will come in handy against the big teams like Juve and Milan where he is watched closely and marked as a scoring threat.

I hope Mancio has the balls to rest Adriano. It's like he's scared to bench him, even for a single game. He looked a tad drained during the 2nd half of the Lecce game and we'll need him fresh for Viola and Rangers.

Samuel, Wome and Solari need to get back into the mix of things too.

I've rarely ever seen Mancini sub CD's into the game that late, unless there's an injury. He'll either start Samuel or he won't play at all.

As for this game,

Samuel will finally be available for the Serie games after his 3 matches ban. As our next match after this one is against Fiorentina, which is not a time to experiment; I would like us to start playing Cordoba -- Samuel duo in the middle now. Ze Maria seems to have a good game against Lecce, so I guess he deserves another chance again. Hopefully, Burdisso will be on the bench for the game.

Chievo has always been a difficult opponent for us, so lets hope that we do win this game and bring home 3 valuable points.

D'Anna won't be able to play against us coz of the suspension; which is a good news for us.

And this was Chievo's line up against Reggina, played on Sunday:

I agree, Adriano should be rested, we need him for Fiorentina and Rangers and Juventus...Samuel should repleace Matrix, he also need some rest.. Not that Matrix didnt play good, actually he was playing same or better than Cordoba last couple of games.. hmm i don't know maybe Cordoba need some rest, he was looking kinda tired- Veron or Pizarro to start? I don't care, if Veron starts i want Pizarro in after 60 min.. And Recoba and Oba in front..

So third match in 8 days and more to follow. We have no other choice than to rest Adriano. Julio Cruz deserves to start with Oba, who was definately looking fresh against Lecce. I wouldn't mind though seeing Recoba in place of him. I'm confident Recoba and Cruz can perform well together. So just rest Adri and I'm happy.

Will Solari be fit on this match? I doubt he'll start because he wasn't even called up in the weekend. I'm for resting Dragone from left flank and playing Santiago. If he isn't fit, play Kily then. Who must start is Luis Figo. I just love seeing him playing and as a most important thing, he has already adapted very well to our right-wing. More matches and things only get better. He was said to be Real Madrid's best player in the first half of the season 2004/2005 and feels like he's gonna soon that with us too. He'll improve his individual performances yet, while he has already adapted our system very well. Things will go better way, if Mancini now just sticks our current system. I'm not judging 4-3-3 totally either but it would need different players just than we saw against Palermo.

I'm sure Matrix-Samuel would work, but I just want to see Cafe-Muro in our central-defence. Ze Maria worked quite well against Lecce, so we should stick to him. Favalli showed last season that he can play whole season without a rest, but against plastic club we should give Wome a chance. Anyway Nico Burdisso is soon back and then we'll get more strength to our backline. He'll be great extra force.

Julio Cesar will start. I've just kept wondering why Toldo got to bench. Cesar has played well, and so did Toldo before bench call. This is how we'll go but it's just something I wonder.

Win is the only thing that is enough and nothing less we can afford. Only win will keep us alive.
