Seen that Conte will still be our coatch next season, his most important duty now is to find the right tactics to let Eriksen express himself like in Tottenham!

If 3-4-1-2 is difficult to substain in terms of balance for the team, Conte should start to work on Eriksen in order to teach him playing as LCM in 3-5-2 (see how Banega was playing in Sivilla!)

I think Conte and the club agree that we need a different midfielder to cover on Eriksen/Sensi. Brozovic is good but lack of defensive skills (especially positioning). This is why the rumors on Kante which I tent to believe. The problem is, will somebody pay cash for him in this Covid time?

We should try him in Brozo's role if we have to stick with the 352. What we lose in work rate we gain in creativity. If we flank him with 2 more active mids like Barella and (hypothetically) Tonali we wont have to worry as much about him being a defensively liability.

Italian media reporting he's been transfer listed. Doesn't surprise me with Conte returning.

I hope it's a joke... Eriksen is a world class player, we must not sell him after just 6 months in Serie A...

Ah so we finally managed to get a super hyped Sneijderesque midfielder and now we might shove him off after giving him a total of 16 minutes playtime spanned over a few months. Sounds like Inter to me.

Imagine having a player like this and getting rid of him 6 months after signing because the coach is not willing to accommodate him in any game plans. We could sell him and win the fucking treble next season and id still be embarrassed about it.

Kind of supports the theory that he was bought against Conte's will. Whether you support Conte or not, teams should not buy players that the coach wont be successful with.

True that.
We paid $20mil for a player Conte didn’t give a fuck about, while all the time he’s begging for Vidal, who if we tried could have had for 15mil. Don’t make sense, if you’re in Contes shoes. Not that I’m advocating for Vidal, but you get the point.

I am kind of torn when it comes to Eriksen. On one hand, I see the coach's point of view, on the other hand I'm not even sure Conte will be here in 12 months from now, so I don't know to what lengths I would go to make him happy.

Why is Eriksen a player Conte can't be successful with?

So we're selling our two best passers of the ball and there's no word on Gagliardini who can't pass for shit.

Next season is going to continued horeshit. Beat up all the little teams, lose every big game we play. Zeru Titilu

Too soft, simply put.

Conte likely considers him an uncomfortable fit. Unlike his Chelsea side, we don't have the wingers to play a 343. That means we can only play 352 or 3412 and by extension that means Eriksen can only play CM or AM.

For the CM role, Conte probably thinks Eriksen lacks the physical presence and defensive tenacity, to which I agree he has a point. Eriksen always runs a lot, but that's not the same thing as being defensively capable. And based on Conte's Vidal fetish, he clearly wants someone who is dynamic, powerful and physically combative. These are all areas where Eriksen certainly isn't strong.

Still though, I really thought Conte should've just slotted Eriksen into Sensi's LCM position and played him as CM from day 1. Unfortunately we've wasted a big chunk of time for him to get acclimatized into that system and we now have such a short pre-season too.

But we did have wingers. We had politano, perisic, candreva, sanchez.

I'm sure conte could've done 343 with them. But I don't think he wanted it and he preferred 352. Even at Chelsea the 343 came only as he struggled to get his 352 working with their players.

I'm still not convinced we can't field Brozovic Barella Erikson in a 3412 against 13 teams in serie a. If you have the ball you don't get attacked it's that simple and playing that trio together guarantees you possession of the ball against almost all of serie a teams in my opinion.

I agree, it was more of a rhetorical question. Pushing back against the idea that Conte was dealt a hard hand with Eriksen. Eriksen played everywhere at Spurs, including wide midfielder, AM, CM in a diamond and even in a double pivot. It's not like Conte's never used a creative CM before either, and Pirlo and Fabregas were more sluggish than Eriksen is. I'll add the caveat that maybe Eriksen is mentally shot from his slump before moving here.

Conte must show to be the great coach he is. He must adapt to the players he has, without crying every day.

Eriksen is a midfielder that every top european club would want, so shut up and find the right way to play with Eriksen behind the strikers!

Conte mustn't do anything and he doesn't need to prove to anyone that he can be whatever. He's getting paid 11m irregardless of how you view him and he'll keep doing whatever the fuck he wants...

This was entirely on Marotta and since last week, on Zhang as well.

Judging by the passive-aggressive butthurt-edness of your posts for the past 3 days, I could assume you are even haunted in your dreams by Conte, Marotta, Zhang(s) etc.
