He is a good tactician and a good captain. Just has too many slow guys playing around him....

He is capable of scoring very quickly. This year he is having tough times, but before that he was really good. I think its just a bad patch and once he recovers we will be seeing old Smith who was instrumental in chasing 434.

I have no issue with him in the test team since he has still been excellent there, average of 50 for the last year and career. He is one of the first on my list.

He needs to go back to domestic cricket and show he deserves to be in the odi and t20 sides. There are players in much better form and deserving of a place above him.

I think it would be harsh to drop him out of ODI squad completely. Yes he didn't play well this year and half of last year but this is very common in Cricket. We have seen great players struggling for over a year and then regaining form. He just needs one innings from where he can regain his confidence.

Yes he should go back to domestic form to get his basics right. Dropping him for a series or 2 would benefit him, but dropping him completely wont be a good idea as he has proven playing well for a decade.

5 - If SA can win this series decider they will secure their 5th successive ODI series victory and their 4th in a row against Aus. Upwards.

We lost the decider. Was a close game but our batting let us down. Wasn't a great odi pitch and we were 15-25 runs short of were we needed to be.

Now for the tests, reckon we are currently a better test side so hopefully we do better.

Test cricket is still the most unpredictable form of cricket. Although this has given me an idea of actually having T-20 Dual innings cricket instead of the usual 50 overs ODI's. Each team plays 20 overs twice. But you have 5 wickets only each innings. Makes the batsmen a little more slower. Makes teams even.

You had the chance to bowl them out for 21. Would have been lowest ever test score. Missed chance.

Smith is the key player in this chase, he is counter attacking so well and scoring runs at SR of around 80. He should continue in the same style and on the other hand Kallis can steady the ship.

Have to say brilliant day of test cricket.

Wouldn't work. I think some Ex player suggested same idea for 50 over cricket. Saying 1st innings one team will bat 25 overs then next team will bat. But with full 10 wickets

Very good chase, Amla and Smith did really well. 195 runs partnership in 4th innings is amazing. In the end very comfortable win for SA.
