....wtf....so lets use Mark Viduka as an example......he is born in Australia, his parents have Australian citizenship....but he should not be considered Australian?

It doesn't matter whether or not his parents have citizenship anyway, he is born in Australia, he is Australian, he chose to play for Australia even though Dinamo Zagreb tried to brainwash him and try and make him play for Croatia.

The Aussie (with Cro backgrounds) in Skoko, Viduka etc...were all born in Australia and have lived their entire (non football) lives in Australia......

whereas

The likes of Simunic, Seric and Didiluca were born in Australia, lived pretty much all their life in Australia, one of them a product of the AIS where we Australians have to pay tax for, then out of nowhere, he says, I want to play for Croatia......

Personally I agree, but (he-he always a but), today we have a lot more flexibility in choosing where we are from, and really it is upto each person to choose their alliegance (sp).

I note Katiey86 that you call yourself English, you got an English passport ave ya ? ;)

Well I was born here, so yes, obviously ;)

My dads Scottish & my mum is half Italian. Though as I was born here and have lived here all my life i'm English, just with a non-English background.

Though Catanha said it better :D

Well if you check that British Passport you will see you are a citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, no mention of England in that :)

Thats the bigest reason why Croatia can't repeat that succses from WC 1998, there is no passion like in that team with Boban. And can't be coz all that players who are born somwhere else can't fell that, Klasnic is bigest examplle for that or Tomas who was thinked that plays for Aussie on that WC game.
