I didn't watch much of Inter-Sampdoria, but from what I've seen Santon is proving that he's most promising primavera player we had in a long time. His good performance against Roma doesn't seem to be a coincidence.

He wasn't so good today than what he was against Roma, as Stankevicius and Samp's winger was there against him and Samp played through them pretty much. He was caugh off position couple of times but what is extremely nice about him is his security with the ball and clear pure ball skill. He can keep the ball and put it away when needed. Today was seen more nervousness, but it's understandable.

The second match is a bit more difficult than the debut, I think. But it wasn't an easy match to play for an 18-year-old. He didn't struggle openly and should be fairly pleased with what he did today.

I agree with those who see his abilities with the ball. He has confidence in himself and even if things was difficult today, he never came across nervous or insecure. At least he didn't show it.

I think the only reason we saw him yesterday was to rest Maxwell a bit.Good choice IMHO even though i wasnt impressed defensively (he is playing out of position) but his confidence is good to see.

I agree. I also believe that Maxwell is still the first choice LB in our team. Maybe his low performance was due to tiredness or lack of concentration. Anyway, it will be good to have Santon able to play LB though so we can rest Maxwell and have him in top condition in important matches.

I am kinda split on this. If Santon continues to play RB, he may not get a chance in Inter until late (Maicon +JZ). On the other hand, if we develop him as LB, we might be destroying a precious gem

Maicon will probably own the RB spot for many years to come. There is nothing negative in Santon getting used to play at LB in the meantime (is it spelled this way?). To win the RB spot from Maicon is not a task I envy anyone.

jokes aside, i still think max has the edge on santon, but it's alwys good to see a primavera player actually having an impact on our play. i especially like that he isn't afraid of going forward with the ball

People stop putting tags on youngsters, the pressure on their shoulders is big enough. Let them concentrate on their game, rather than doing tricks and shooting commercials cuz they are the new Beck, Ronnie or whoever.

Indeed. And boy, back in the early 2000s, he's the finest LB I've ever seen.

But Zambrotta was also very comfortable with his left foot, kinda like Nedved. I'd be more than happy if Santon can even reach 80% of Zambrotta's level, honestly.

Yes, Mourinho wants to show Balotelli, which is the right way to get to the team. He made Santon like an example for Mario. It is all on Mario's brain to understand this situation.
