10 years of FIFInternazionale winger Dejan Stankovic has welcomed the signing of Luis Figo despite the threat the former Real Madrid Galactico will pose to his own place in the team.
Stankovic admits that he has never faced such competition for his favoured right-sided midfield berth but insists that it can only benefit Inter.
Speaking to Serbian newspaper Blic, he said: "Good competition for every place on the pitch is more than welcome.
"When the coach has more choice it makes the players work harder to keep their place. This motivates us and that can only be positive for the team.
"During all the summer friendlies, I have played in my favourite position on the right flank. We will see what happens with Figo in the team," he added.
Stankovic also hopes the acquisition of Figo will help Inter sustain a title challenge for the coming season, having fallen away prematurely last term.
Stankovic declared: "Every year we start among the title favourites but by Christmas we are adrift of the leaders. We are determined not to fade away this time."

What a great Sportsman ! thats the spirit !
I Love Deki for his great personlaity, and i don't forget him a great moments a Inter and Lazio.
I Know his worth, and i know what he can, so i really expact him to prove all the Anti-Deki wrong, and give us a great season while he switches between the midfield and the RW Position, i don't think he really got a lot to offer at the LW position, probaly not more then Kily can offer.

I heard Stankovic play really well against Artmedia which is fantastic. Anywayz hopefully he keeps it up, whichever side he's on. I can't wait to see him and Figo both at their best raising hell for the opposition.
