I do think it will be a good idea for Zanetti to be the second DM with Cambiasso/Motta doing the defensive and attacking moves with Deki, Sneijder and Muntari/ Mancini/Quaresma. So there is still room for Zanetti and I would like to remind you guys that I think it was a Coppa Italia match inwhich he didn't play last year, can't remember who, but our midfield was still not up to par.

Karim, the prob with having both Cambi and JZ is that they cant do anything with the ball once they have it. No forward runs, no intelligent through balls, no quick passes. They kill the game with the lack of vision and speed. 2 of them together is absolute recipe for unimaginative bland soccer.

And its not as if I am saying the ppl on the bench (Muntari / Viera) wud make a world of difference - we need to look outside and get the right ppl (D'Agostino / Hamsik) coming in these positions.

He might not be a superstar player but he is one of very few on this team who play with passion and always tries his best.

I think he is very underrated and until now our best midfielder this season. Last season he was great too. I think he should play alongside Sneijder & Motta, because there are 3 midfielders, who can connect the midfield good with the attack. The DM should be Cambiasso and I would like to see Zanett as a left back.

Sneijder was the hero against Udinese but Stankovic scored a rocket also. Great goal by him.

I thought the chance was lost, then he just snapped it up into the top corner. Absolutely stunning finish.

Keep Deki as a CM. He performs so much better in that position. Unless Sneijder got injured, never let him play behind the strikers.

Deki was brilliant today, he ran and tried his heart out to make it 2-1, he even had a magnificent shot saved, the one that Muntari screwed.

i dont know guys i think everyone is sympathetic to our midfield today ,if you watched the game again you will see Deki giving the ball away on no less than 5 occasions... and GDS gives him a 7 :rollani:

and in those 5 occasions 3 of them were deadly counter attacks which nearly resulted in trouble for us
same with Cambiasso(goal) and Sneijders losing possesion 20 times.. and GDS gives them all 7's...

I actually thought Stankovic wasn't that good, apart from his goal. Heck, that stunner totally overshadowed his mistakes throughout the game. I watched it on a very low quality stream, and I couldn't even see where the ball flew to, until I saw Dejan celebrating :p...

Forza Stankovic!!

Agree with the last two posters. Apart from the goal and his ever-present warrior work rate, he misplaced a lot of simple passes and also lost the ball occasionally. He was far from our best player last night.

i was surprised to see everybody praising him just because he scored even though he probably gave away the most balls after muntari, and i would get so angry when he goes for long balls even though there are 1-2 free players he can give short passes to

Its not about just yesterday,Deki has been off to a good start especially when Sneijder is playing. At CM he is everything we want,he runs into the box, takes good shots and makes good long passes...He missed a few last night but thats acceptable especially that he got roughed up twice, once a knock to his back and another to his shoulder.I thought we were gona take him off really after the way he looked picking up these knocks.

Honestly i you serious. What do you pretend more from him .He has scored 2 of the last 3 goals the team has scored giving you 2.5 from 4 point you have got in this two games. He ran all over the field making pressure to them and he was dangerous every time he went forward. If muntari had scored that simple goal from the shot of stankovic than he would have had another credit so please stop criticizing stankovic and find somewhere else the problems of this inter.

Very true...BUT, the occasions that the ball were given away, watch them again...everyone goal side of Deki is static. They are not even moving the slightest. Sure it may go down as his fault for a bad pass in the end, but the movement from our players was horrible.

In a team that is struggling massively with creating, let alone scoring, Deki is a very important player.

He wasn't perfect yesterday but he was definitely more useful than harmful, unlike the other CM who was on the left side. And besides, yesterday Deki can afford to be more risky and lose more balls as he had JZ behind him.

And yes, what a finish that was!

He made a couple of good long passes switching the play etc, I can bet he would have played better with Maicon rather than J.Z. It would give him more space and let him be deep in midfield where he plays best.

I agree Nyall, Deki has been stunning so far this season. He is getting close to the Stankovic we use to know in Lazio (Remember what Mourinho said to him beginning of last season?).

His shot today is better than Chievo's IMO, the movement to the right before hitting a volley from half way line.

That truly was a specacular goal. I've seen many goals from the halfway line before but never have I seen someone did it like that, hitting a volley directly from a GK's clearance. Well done Deki!

It makes all the difference to have Sneijder there -- when Deki doesn't have to pretend to be a freaking trequartista, he's a completely different player.
