Inter should sell him and find a replacement.

There far more pressing concern than having him around. Like our aging central defence and secondary line of attackers.

Also we aren’t going to find anyone better for the price we can get for him. It’s not like the market is floating with good wingback we can actually afford.

Would like him to go if we can update this position somehow. Denzel can be so frustrating at times.

Waiting till when? Dumfries has been "considering" for months. Should lock him in the HQ, either pen the damn paper or transfer listed.

Never trust Skriniaresque "incline to sign" bullshit.
I think they'll wait till the end of the season, and then will decide what to do. Marotta is experienced enough to avoid another Skriniar's scenario.

Yeah Dumfries wants to probably feel the market, will there be better offers around in the summer. Maybe after the Euros specially. If there are, he might want to push for those destinations. If not, he'll probably sign an extension. Or maybe he signs anyway.

MU is the team, they desperately need to patch that side.

Highly unlikely though, who better than Inter will get him? I just don’t see it. Only incompetent MU would even make such bad decisions, and one can certainly debate if that isn’t more a step down to play in Circus United

"After Euro" is only Inter preference, which he shouldn't care. It is as clear as day Dumfries is postponing to "feel the market" until summer 2025. Because, as mediocre as he is, teams only pay better if they directly bank the transfer fee to his account instead of Inter's.

Or not at all, 4m is way too much. Then he has no other choice. But we are playing with fire again.

We should play hardball now. Either sign or leave.

Easier said than done. In order to leave, there has to be an offer that both Inter and Dumfries are willing to accept. Dumfries will want to move for an upgrade and there's not too many, if any, that's an upgrade over inter and wants to buy him.

Looks to me Inter is playing the hard ball right now by saying that 4m is the highest they are willing to pay him for. Sadly, it's up to Dumfries. This is not like Skriniar's situation where PSG was ready to splash 60-70m? On him but Zhang refused.

It seems that Dumfries will move if any club gives him a better salary. I don't think that he is looking for a better club than Inter as a main priority.

I do agree though. Just say so that ppl don't bash Marotta if we end up losing Dumfries for free as he couldn't force him to sign/no teams pay big for a mediocre. Our directors don't forget shit.

This. And I think we've told him he's out of the project if he doesn't sign an extension. Or that's the assumption, hard to see them replicating the Skriniar debacle.

It's uncertain if it's purely money related but I could guess Dumfries isn't interested in moving to let's say Aston Villa even if they paid more (and seriously doubt they would).

When it comes to Skriniar, PSG offered 50m + bonuses right at the end of the window but Zhang refused.

why would he be offered half of Dimarco. Who plays a harder position to replace, scores more, assist more and is an actual starter. I get we dont want to lose a player for free but them being paid the same is insane

You're saying that he is better than Dimarco?

4m is fair for Dumfries. He's established NT player, knows the league, decent production, physical player which we always need.

Willing to pay that so that we don't need to try to replace him. Replacing existing players who work well in their position is always a risk (IMO Dumfries fits to Inter well).
