Diego Milito is goal machine, this is fact!! :star:

Stats: Milito, the goal king
MILAN - With his brace in yesterday's victory over Cagliari, Inter striker Diego Milito has brought his tally of goals for Italian clubs to 64 in 100 appearances (a goals-per-game average of 0.64). In Serie A the Argentine has scored 28 goals in 35 appearances for an average of 0.80, and now sits top of the all time list for goals per game.

Top 6 players with highest goals-per-game average in Serie A history:
1) Milito: 28 goals in 35 appearances: 0.80
2) Nordahl: 225 goals in 291 appearances: 0.77
3) Boffi: 109 goals in 163 appearances: 0.67
4) Ronaldo: 58 goals in 88 appearances: 0.66
5) Hansen: 139 goals in 215 appearances: 0.65
6) Nyers: 153 goals in 236 appearances: 0.65

I find Vieri's Inter GPG average even more astonishing...

102 goals in 122 appearances: 0.84!

His total however just falls out of that list...

142 goals in 232 appearances: 0.61

Does anybody just find it wierd that we have 2 pure strikers up front for us??? It's great to watch... Last few seasons it was fustrating to see the lack of clinical finishing. Milito in particular has been a breath of fresh air...

they might be 2 pure striker but they are completely different

eto'o is more of a breakaway striker with speed but not that clinical

while milito is an all-rounder who is probably the best finisher in the world right now

it's euphoric watching them celebrate together compared to the thump the ball to zlatan strategy from last season

It is really a fantastic team that has been constructed.

That is something that is lost in all the hoopla. I mean, there are maybe 10 elite teams in the world, and despite losing Zlatan, we have arguably moved up that ranking of elite teams!

GK, could not ask for better than JC!
CB,CB,RB Samuel, Lucio, Maicon, could not ask for better! Chivu as the longterm Samuel replacement, Lucio/Cordoba replacement yet to be determined.

Motta, Stankovic, Cambiasso, Zanetti, four battlers with technical qualities, ferocity and pure desire for the team. Passing could be a little better, this will likely happen when Zanetti/Muntari is swapped for the likes of Hamsik (or someone like Michael Essien, in a perfect world).

Milito, Eto'o, with Balotelli providing back up, and Pandev arriving in January.
Just perfect. Milito already combines well with Cambiasso, Zanetti and Motta, now he is just getting to know Sneijder, Eto'o and Stankovic, really.

Eto'o has shown great commitment and class. His pace is a fantastic weapon even when it doesn't result in Eto'o scoring, it creates opportunities for the team, and relieves pressure off the defence. Milito is also blazingly quick!

This summer when all the talk was how Inter DIDN'T secure Diego, we forgot we got DIEGO MILITO! I'll take this Diego, thanks very much!!!

And Milito will be hoping his ex-team Genoa do the business against Juventus on Thursday to keep the Nerazzurri in pole position.
"Unfortunately I won't be able to go and watch the match in Genoa. Will I be supporting Genoa? Tomorrow and forever."

The problem with Bobbo was he kept on playing till he was 78. And only quit b/c no team were interested in him.

Anyways, Milito is turning out to be the freaking signing of this summer. He always look so lively and dangerous. Class.

We must remember during this Milito praising phase (I am impressed too!) that he has a four-year deal. I really doubt he's so lively at the age of 32+. But of course by that time Balotelli has probably (well, hopefully) taken the first team spot from him. It's just that I don't see the actual transfer to be something magnificent, since after all the fee was ~25m€ (10m€+Acqua) so the player HAS TO BE that good what Milito is now for us, specially because he's 30 already.

So to clarify my point, IMO Milito is magnificent, but not the transfer.

To add more praise, I just can't stop loving his work rate. He moves very much which is absolutely important in our new way of playing. If the midfield starts doing it also, everything will get even better.

Hehe ;) My opinion about Milito transfer wasn't found in these days, but already before it happened when the rumors were there. That it's too expensive because of his age (fee + length of the contract). My opinion doesn't change about the transfer unless Milito plays this well till the end of his contract.

Well he is right. If you really love someone or something you wont be afraid of saying things that may hurt feelings or be regarded as negtive. Love or affection isnt only about saying how jolly good everything is, its also about having the curage to say when something is wrong.

I think Milito can continue like this for at least the next 3 years, and at least 1 or 2 more years as a rotational striker.

I think the 25 milion fee was for BOTH Milito AND Motta, wasn't it? Plus, we gave them some youngsters Mourinho didn't believe in, so we might still fuck them.

Besides, it was never official, the value of the transfers anyway.

Not official, but somewhere around 35-40m€, it was reported. ~25m€ for Milito, ~15m€ for Motta. There were youngsters (Acquafresca and others) to lower the cash sum, but still it was relatively expensive considering their ages (primarily Milito's). But, so far it's looking good with him so let's hope he keeps going at least 3/4 of his current contract like this. :)

If we take that fee as confirmed than the deal is great not because a 30+ player is valued 25 milion but because acquafresca has been valued 15 milion and this is great because in my opinion he will never worth 15 milion and his poor performances at atalanta are clearly showing that.
The guy was clearly overated because of his age. He is a striker with no technical abilities at all , adding to that the fact that his finishing has ups and downs (fiorentina pazzini type) than it makes a mid table striker or even less.

As for the youngsters we gave to them i regret only megiorini for whom i have a good opinion and bonucci but still if you look at the difference motta and milito gave to our team any loss can be acceptable.

The Total value for both milito and motta was reported to be €40 million and we know that acquafresca was valued at €14 million since the genoa president confirmed. The question is how much the other youngsters were valued at and how much we paid in cash.

No it was not. It was 40 mil together for the pair but the value is probably pumped with all the youngsters included.

Branca said we payed little cash as a part of the deal. The youngsters had some sort of value then.I think the deal is very good for us.At least for couple of years we have a great striker and then again why worry for the future as we have Balotelli,Destro ,Arnautovic and Napoli growing. Aqua woulndt add much to our team and we cant send him on loans until he reach his 30s. The decision by the managent we good in my opinion.
