There's almost no way to create a competitive side and make an impact in domestic and European leagues without having dough in today's football, no matter if it's 'gifted' money or 'earned' money. If you don't want people to invest in their clubs then you probably want to create a monopoly in football and make other teams go 100 years to 'earn' the money.

There is no way ManUtd will sign world class striker. There is none available and also Rooney is without a doubt first choice for Van Gaal and he will only look for back ups, that too if Hernandez leaves.

Then it will be rotation I think. Van Gaal is a big fan of Carrick. Also Carrick and Schweinsteiger both have injury problems, so managing their game time properly is very important.

I would like to see midfield of Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger and Herrera. Carrick will be 34 when season starts so we shouldn't rely on him too much.

Louis van Gaal says Manchester United plan to sell Victor Valdes because the goalkeeper refused to play for the reserves last season.

The Spaniard, who was back-up to compatriot David de Gea at United last year, did not travel with the rest of the squad to America for the club's pre-season tour but no reason had previously been given for his exclusion.

However, at a press conference in Seattle on Wednesday to present new signings Bastian Schweinsteiger, Matteo Darmian and Morgan Schneiderlin, Red Devils boss Van Gaal confirmed that Valdes was not selected for the tour of the United States.

He said the former Barcelona goalkeeper was up for sale as he had refused to follow the club's philosophy.

"He is not selected because he doesn't follow our philosophy and there is no place for that one player," Van Gaal said.

"Philosophy is how you play football and how you maintain your match rhythm. For example, he refused last year to play in the second team."

Makes you gain a little bit more respect for Falcao honestly, he played for the under fucking 21s. He did everything in his power to make it work at Man Utd. I still blame Van Gaal for how poor he was. He left him and Di Maria out to dry.
