I hit an interesting realisation on reddit, too.
The 12 clubs would massively increase in value - for Inter, for example, our revenue jumps to like 450-550mil euros once we let for losing some CL revenues. If you dont run the risk of relegation, certain owners (I guess glazers, arsenal, etc) will actually be happy to not invest in the club and take dividends.
If signing a £100m player on £30m a year gross for 5 years means you spend £50m a season on them, the benefit they bring you needs to be probability x reward >£50m per season to justify it. considering the downside is limited with no ability to be relegated, why wouldnt you just take an extra £100-150m a year in dividends? I suspect for some clubs thats EXACTLY what they will do.
