I'd take Ozil even as winger. Di maria is quite overrated imo.

Ozil is at his best playing as #10, provding killer passes. He is not as good winger as Di Maria as Di Maria is a natural winger and has all the attributes.

Ozil is a better player and the one who improves the team most but as a winger? Di Maria is better.

Di Maria loses too many balls for my taste. it was easy for him to send crosses when he had CR cutting in. He is great player no doubt, but not world class and a it overrated. Ozil can imo paly equally good as RW, cutting in and again, sending trough passes. Has the technique and brain to do so. I'd take Ozil over Di Maria any day of the week without thinking a second.

Btw monster, how true are the reports that United is close to signing Fellaini? I read an article that say he is 90% united player.

No baines tho.

Di Maria has quality although he was kinda overpriced methinks, but other than that dude has skills and works quite well with the ball, and like monster said he has a very good work-rate, a player like him would be an upgrade in most of teams

Him and Ozil are both fantastic players, it's a shame that players like them would have to sit in bench

I think Ozil fell out with Madrid management. Maybe some issues with wages and new contract.

IMO Fellaini is as good as done, just waiting for Everton to sign Barry and McCarthy. Few reports that Everton have bid accepted for McCarthy (he is Fellaini's replacement) and they are also trying to sign Barry on loan which points to one thing that Fellaini is on his way out.

Also rumor that Powell will move to Wigan on loan.

Arsenal's bid for Ozil has been outbid by PSG 2 minutes ago.

I'm not really sure about which range of numbers he's talking, but considering the fact that it involves two financial juggernauts (Arsenal isn't kind of spending spree club, they do have a lot of money still) I expect around €45-55 M. Any numbers below that range could be regarded as 'underprice' with respect to overpriced transfer market nowadays.

Funny things now Inter fans are sure Palacio is bigger than Di Maria, go back 3 years ago when Palacio was still in Genoa , Inter fans with closed eyes would pick Di Maria easily.

Di Maria is like the hardest working attacking winger there is, it is a huge asset to have some one who can attack and yet be effective in tracking back, and not simply just being there to stand off opponents, but also winning the ball back.

He will play a similar role as Pastore did for Ancelotti, as he likes to have more balance defensively.

Like Ancelotti, Mourinho also liked this aspect of Di Maria very much, and I would no doubt prefer Di Maria because of this too.

The line is too fine between what's old class and what's not. It's just some stupid title fanboys give to their heroes. What is important is Di Maria's effectiveness in playing his role in the team.

We would be helluva team even with Ranieri had we have someone like him as one of our defensive winger in 442.

Total: 157 games, 27 goals, 77 assists

Althought he was never that good in big games he still has great stats so I think it's more madness from Real to buy Bale for 90m+ and selling Özil.
