10 years of FIF
That's not the point. The point is, they were getting old and were expensive. In that case, if you can get good money, just take it and run. Then get younger players of the same quality, and if possible, use the money to strengthen other areas.
As I said, i am NEVER against selling a player, IF you know how to use the money. That year was the perfect one to get Aguero, and we WERE constantly linked to him. We just won the treble, had few chamipns in the team and we sold Balotelli for almost 30. But nah, we went for Coutinho and Biabiany.
Later, we sold Eto for 27 mils.. We got Zarate and Forlan, who even tho i think were/are good players, are not on Etos level.
You get what I mean? It's not how did they later or what happened. All im saying is that it's ok to sell ANY player as long as you know how to replace him. Big teams do that all the time. Small ones sell them and get cheap alternatives. And we did act as small team in the past 4 years or so.
Yea, I now get what you are saying. I just did what everyone here does, take one sentence of your post to be able to say what I want.
But to that what you are saying. I think Inter though that those star players would quarantee the success in future years also and thats why they didn't want to risk it too much. Also Inter didn't have money to refresh the squad so they just ended up keeping the core and only selling Balo the troublemaker.
That Etoo & Zarate+Forlan thing was just too stupid to even analyse it. Also getting Gasperini was very stupid when Moratti and fans didn't wanna accept 3 back line.
