I'm actually happy that we didn't sing Lavezzi, €31M is just too much for him. Lavezzi is a good player but very far from worldclass, and there's little chance he will ever be considering his age and his style of play which depends a lot in his speed and workrate, plus his finishing sucks, his passing is not that great either, although he's a very good crosser.

Chelsea paid €40M for Hazard which is a fucking lot and yet I still think that was better than paying €31M for Lavezzi. Hazard already is around Lavezzi's level but much younger and with much more potential. Now I would like us to go after J. Rodríguez (€25-30M) or Y. Belhanda (€20-25M), another option is going after someone cheap for depth or maybe just bring back Pandev.

maybe just bring back Pandev.

And the problem is exactly that our management thinks like this dude :palm:
Starting with big expections and ending with a Forlan/Alvarez like signing, ppl don't get that we lost faith and hope in this management? Wasn't the last 2 seasons enough for you to see?

Yep, nobody is over overreacting, just being realistic.

I can't say that i agree with your Lavezzi description but you're absolutely right when it comes to young brilliant players those you mention. But i'll pretend that i didn't read your last suggestion about Pandev.

Problem with young players is it is hard to put too much pressure on them and will they be able to make the big play at a big game. Will they go MIA against Juve or in Champions League. Lavezzi we know what he can do and when he will do it. I think Hazard was shit against us which is sad because we were crap last 2 seasons. No clue who the french guy is and WTF is he 20 million. I can tell you that James benched a Portugese NT player and is already the it guy in the Colombian midfield at 20 and can score and will have a ton of assist but where would he play? We just got Palacio, have Cou and Alvarez. I doubt we dropped all that money on them to bring in another winger. I think we are talking about Lavezzi to make fans happy but Palacio here really killed that chance

I dunno why people keep on blaming management for inability to sign big players?

If we don't get Lavezzi its because we were priced out by PSG. Not a single Serie A club can compete with Chelsea/ManCity/Real/Barca/PSG to sign players because Serie A clubs don't have the money to compete head to head for big name signings. Yet every time these clubs outbid us people here are shocked, as if the management could have outbid them through sheer willpower but decided against it.

The sense of entitlement to big spending that I see in this forum is appalling. People are acting as if they invested millions in the club and they aren't getting their money's worth in big signings. Moratti has personally put in over 750m EUR into the club which has been losing money year after year. He is well within his right to cut down spending and try to balance the budget, it is his fucking money. I can't believe some people have the audacity to criticize him for that. I think the club looking for cheap options is one of the smartest things they have done in years.

Who cares if Palacio is the biggest singing we get over the summer? If you are looking for big signing then you should follow Chelsea or PSG. I personally will be here next season cheering for whatever players we could get.

Lol, nobody said we should spend money we don't have, we should spend the money we DO have wisely.
And that, my friends, we have done in maybe once or two transfers out of 10+ in the last two seasons.
Ricky+Forlan+Pazzo transfers & wages equals to atleast one worldclass player we could have signed, who can make a diffrent in this team, rather than being just another average player. Yep, pazzo was never that awesome, he's a great striker when we have the right players around him who actually can create chanes for him (there u go, WC eto'o who we offloaded for 20-27m), but is useless if you need freaking Milito to make him score. Ricky? with all due respect, he never showed some amazing talent before we signed him, probably valez were also surprised that we signed him.
So yeah, saying we're rebuilding and signing a 31 year old Palacio as our main traget (that's a big if, but I won't be surprised at all) is a massive failure.
Going off topic but I guess u got my point now, I never said I expect us to spend money we don't have, but money we should have.

How about you read my post again, use your brain a little and then actually respond. It's very clear that Pandev would be my last option and in no way did I ever say that would be a good mercato, it's just that a last option.

I don't think Pandev is such a bad player, he's an average player, the problem is that he can't be a starter at Inter, and if he comes back he won't be. Palacio, Coutinho and Alvarez would be over him, there's also Longo and Bessa who I think could be do very good there.

I still think we need another winger preferably a worldclass one but since we need to solve a lot of problems this season maybe we could wait another year. Anyways if Napoli's wants to pay €8M for Pandev we should take that and run, and either spend around €30M in a great winger or a young one with worldclass potential. Another good option is Gastón Ramírez, maybe not world-class potential but I think he's gonna be a great player.

Maybe you should use yours instaed? That was my point exactly, starting with big expections, going after half of the hottest marceto players and ending up with a Forlan like signing because we couldn't compete with better offers.
And in no way we should bring Pandev back, are we trying to rebuild the team or kill it completely?
You said it yourself, he is average, we need someone who can make a different in this team, not just another player

The only real mistakes in signings are Forlan and Pazzini. Neither was needed as neither was going to supplant Milito as our main striker and neither was a strong support.

Ricky is good because he could improve and be sold at a profit. Also, his wage is really low.

yea that was really bizarre, inter was first after sanchez but he went to barca so we picked pazzini instead? thats 2 totally different style of attackers, like night and day

Because it's actually their fault?

If we don't get Lavezzi its because we were priced out by PSG.

No, we were priced out by throwing money away on bunch of useless average players.

What a load of bullshit.

Jonathan-Alvarez-Palacio-Forlan-Zarate-Mariga-Biabiany-Kucka=MORE THAN ENOUGH for Lavezzi type of player+his wages.

And this was nothing like Sanchez saga. Lavezzi was actually very interested in joining Inter.

The sense of entitlement to big spending that I see in this forum is appalling. People are acting as if they invested millions in the club and they aren't getting their money's worth in big signings.

People are not morons and don't have any problems with simple math. Don't throw away money on useless garbage players and their wages and you will be able to afford one Lavezzi once in a while.

Moratti has personally put in over 750m EUR into the club which has been losing money year after year. He is well within his right to cut down spending and try to balance the budget, it is his fucking money. I can't believe some people have the audacity to criticize him for that. Moratti loves the club but has no clue how to run in. Inter owes recent success to three separate factors. In no particular order: Mourinho

Facchetti/Lele Oriali
Calciopoli

You should remind yourself how ridiculously incompetent Moratti was pre Calciopoli while spending all that money you mentioned. Investing money itself doesn't mean jack shit if you are a cluless moron.

Also, Inter not being able to be financially sound without being dependent solely on Moratti is also his fault. Especially after that treble win.

Who cares if Palacio is the biggest singing we get over the summer?

Give me a fucking break with this ''I'm a better fan than you'' act. Newsflash for you-you are not, you are just a blind management homer.
Nobody wants Inter to be like Chelsea or PSG. We just want them to be smarter with little money they have. It's fucking Lavezzi. One fucking player??!!!

A club of Inter's stature must be able to deliver fucking Lavezzi no matter what. No matter PSG or Chelsea. IT'S ONE 25 M PLAYER WHO WANTS TO PLAY FOR INTER ON TOP OF THAT. We are not asking for some ridiculous spending spree. Just one guy. One. Every three years. One player. After selling superb quality in Eto'o and Balo we only need one and he doesn't even need to be on their level. Talk abot being fucking ungrateful and glory hunter, huh?

But they aren't able to deliver. Do you know why?The answer is still simple. They are incompetent idiots spending their time exchanging million players in some lunatic deals with Genoa. That's about all they are capable of.

@ The Wall:

Good post, a bit harsh but deserved a thank you.

I agree with your point. We are not asking Inter to suddenly become Man City and spend millions on players that we don't need.

All we are asking for is smarter buys. since 2010 we have spent close to 80 million on transfers yet most of our starters are still the same players of 2010. Why is that? Where did all that money go?

If in each summer we just got 1 worldclass player we would have a very different team today.

I would be satisfied with one difference maker every three years. :) Doesn't even have to be a world class player, not many teams actually want so sell their wc players and there isn't bunch of them anyways.

But players like Lavezzi really shouldn't be out of Inter's range.

You do remember that Oriali and Fachetti were part of that pre calciopoli spending incompetent transfer markets, right?;) I really don't get the inter fans hailing of Oriali as this transfer guru in the last year, he has more fuckups then branca but somehow branca gets made out as the complete fool and oriali is everyone's hero...

If I remember correctly, they were never that important like in those years close to Calciopoli(and after it in Oriali's case because Fachetti died in 2006).

They were the two crucial men to start and evolve Inter in those years in my book. Moratti's only great move was hiring Mourinho. But let's not make it something special now, that move was a very obvious way to go at the time and only an idiot would have passed on opportunity like that.

But you can look at that move in another light.... given the fact that Moratti is almost always an idiot and almost always makes wrong moves that was obviously a huge success for him.
