FIFA Order Real to Pay Inter
03/04/2004
FIFA have given Real Madrid 30 days to hand over £19 million to Inter in the ongoing row between the two clubs.

On August 31 2002 Ronaldo moved to Real in exchange for £23 million plus £7 million the following January or Santiago Solari.

The Argentine could not agree terms with Inter, and the Nerazzurri requested the cash instead.

The Spaniards argued that Inter had deliberated offered Solari a low wage, thus forcing the player to give up the move.

But their appeal was rejected, and Fifa have now deemed that Real must hand over the £7 million, plus the remaining two instalments of Ronaldo's original fee and five per cent interest. All in all, £19 million.

=====================================

Its about time that Real pay us our money. We didn't do anything wrong and I'm happy FIFA saw things our way. Though maybe we can include in this 19 Mill Cambiasso and cash (if we haven't already signed Cambiasso for next season) That would be a great way to slightly lower their bill to our advantage

They should also be made to pay an extra fee for making us go through all this and wasting our time.

FINALLY! Another reason to hate these b@stards, who the hell do they think they are telling us what the will and can pay for. Thats twice FIFA has ruled on our side, and I believe they should be fined for stalling so damn long. I just hope Inter take the money and never do business with those morons again!

I wouldn't be so sure about this. As far as I remember FIFA ordered Madrid to pay in autumn too and nothing happened. It seems that FIFA hasn't any intresses to make tougher actions that we would get our money.

Madrid lacks money, that's why they are delaying paying.

FIFA ordered them to pay in autumn but Real appealed it again which helped them delay the payment day ! and i think that real knew they would have to pay, but just appealed so that they could delay the date of payment ??

that is right, i guess

It`s said that if Real can`t cough up the money they`ll try to offer Inter Figo in exchange for the money. I hope Inter don`t accept that.

This is moved to the 'News, Rumours & Transfers' forum.

I heard that Real still have a chance to appeal to the highest sports court or something. I forget what it's called. Won't be surprised if they win the case. They'll probably give the judge's daughter some time to spend with Beckham & Raul.

I had thought that this was their last appeal, as it was their second appeal. ??

Crespo, Figo, I
well, there's no mentioning about the sanction if they don't pay us...
so I think real will just not pay... With the way they're spending, I don't think any T-shirt sales will allow them to pay us in such short time..

if we take any player, then it shouldn't be figo...

we should take the money ....

Transfer sanctions would do the trick...

No more transfers for Real...

No new ballers coming to the club...

Old men with canes and glasses...

Goodnight Gloryhunters...

I hope you enjoy my football poetry

Oh I can't deci
Ronaldo transfer saga drags on
Real Madrid have launched an appeal to a Swiss tribunal in order to avoid giving Inter the remaining money owing for Ronaldo.

The striker completed a £30m move in the summer of 2002 that included either a player or an extra £7m cash the following January.

When the Nerazzurri failed to agree terms with Santiago Solari, they expected the money in return, but Real maintain Inter are no longer entitled to anything.

The matter went to FIFA arbitration and Football’s governing body has twice come out in favour of Massimo Moratti’s club.

The most recent verdict gave Madrid 30 days to hand over a total of approximately £19m still owing for the move.

However, the Spaniards have now officially lodged another appeal to the Swiss-based TAS – the Tribunal of Arbitration in Sport.

“On March 15,” revealed an official club statement, “Real Madrid lodged an appeal with the TAS to annul the decision made by FIFA’s executive committee on February 29 with regards to the financial agreement of Ronaldo’s move from Inter to Madrid.”

This could be a manoeuvre to buy time, as the TAS should give its own verdict after approximately four months of deliberation.

Does FIFA's word not have any credibility? Thats twice they ruled for us, and thats twice they rejected it and still deny they owe the money!
