Any talk of women sports anywhere in the world probably ends up in uncharted territory, i am surprised you are surprised, on the internet its worse though.

I opened this thread to see what people are saying about the US win mainly, wrong move. Thats why i rarely go in the Icardi thread anymore as well.

Feel bad but I won't lie, I can't watch women's sport for the most part.

After watching elite male athletes perform sports with elite-athlete-level speed, power, precision and technique, you can't just watch women and expect a comparable product. I believe this is especially true in football. In some sports, the gap between men and women is smaller, like tennis or something. But in football, the gap is still huge. There's a reason Australia's national women's team was easily defeated by some fucking men's U17 team. This would probably happen in any country/league tbh.

It's kinda like watching the primavera tbh. Years ago, I used to watch them from time to time, but they suck. It's hard to watch U18's after watching full-fledged pros. And women's football is even a step below that.

I watch the WC highlights as a form of entertainment because the own goals, defending and especially the goalkeeping is hilarious. I think most of the teams in the world cup just picked any random person they saw on the park and put them in goal because they're shocking.

But yeah, they should get paid as much as the male footballers..

I find woman's football mildly entertaining. I can watch 2-3 games during the World Cup and find some enjoyment in it. It's not like women's basketball where I refuse to even turn the channel on when they're playing.

Women's basketball is one of the worst things out there. Women's handball is also quite bad, not sure which is worse. I used to sponsor a women's basketball team so I've seen a lot of games. I enjoyed some of it but it doesn't feel as exciting. I think subtle sexism is what turns us off from this particular sport. The women aren't as cute/pretty in comparison with other sports and the quality is always much inferior to the men's game, so you'll rarely switch to a game purely for the competition. And every guy wants to see a bunch of athletic girls running around

Women's volleyball, water polo and to a lesser extent (field) hockey on the other hand are quite nice
Football falls somewhere near the middle but closer to basketball imo. Never watched woman's futsal though so can't compare it.

And let's face it, not many people really want to watch a woman's team sport. Not even girls like it that much. The biggest following usually comes from girls that compete at some level in that sport or are in the academies. At the Roland Garros some weeks ago I was with someone and she hated the womens' games, called it much inferior to "the real thing". I liked the short skirts

Being into swimming myself, I think women swimming during Olympic games is also nice to watch. And not just because there are women in swimsuits, showing ass and boobs. I think like Tennis that was also mentioned, swimming is also one of the sport types that the aren't galaxies between men and women performances. The technique is performed equally well by both genders, only that men get better numbers due to physical superiority.

Football though, is just comical.
