Italian commentators (and the Ref"expert" Marelli) said they had doubts after the Lautaro goal and same at the not given penalty to Fiorentina. But i saw on you tube the english and german commentator, they said it was regular. And at the Sommer penalty Marelli + 2 cunt commentator said that it was penalty because Sommer hit the ball and head at the same time. WHAT? are we back in 2003 where Moggi payed the italian tv only to avoid that they show Juves favours? Or are they afraid of saying something in favour of Inter? This is the first time i saw something like that. Disgusting...

Only saw the second half... de Vrij really got bullied by Nzola. If we play de Vrij, our opponent might just use long ball to their big man with a better ball control.

Most strikers aren't as strong or physical as Nzola though. I do agree De Vrij tends to struggle, but I believe Nzola also got the better of Acerbi last season in the away match vs. Spezia?

This is the kind of fixture where pazza inter would show up and lay down a shocker. Instead we preserved without some really key players and got all 3 points. A huge, huge win.

Nzola did great and De Vrij got bullied sometimes, but honestly there were many fouls by Nzola when he justs push De Vrij to get position.

Great win but it wont matter much if we lose against rube. That game is a must win. Beating them, goin +4 with game in a hand could totally kill their confidence and momentum.

For me, that mess in the penalty box in the first half was more penalty than the one that was actually given.

Lautaro goals was 50/50. Some referees would give a foul there because it was not a slight push.

IMO it was pretty slight push. Much heavier pushing is allowed IMO. That's typical ball challenge, players push each other, that was nothing out of ordinary. The Bastoni-Ranieri case was they both held each other, it wasn't one-sided.

Sommer case, I don't know the exact rules about that but Sommer got the ball clearly before the first hit Nzola's head. It's a dangerous play but then on the other hand, how goalie should go for such ball? I don't think that's a foul, just an unlucky situation where the attacker goes for the ball aswell and gets the followthrough of goalie's save. But as said, I don't know the exact rules and how those situations should be interpreted. Wouldn't be surprised there was an effect of already ruling out two cases against Fiorentina earlier in the match.

edit. But yeah I can accept a penalty to be called from that. It was a heavy punch to the head in the end.

If you get the ball first and still clatter the opponent its still a foul and a pen. Sommer is unlucky but it is a pen for me.

That’s always been the case for everyone except goalkeepers.

Goalkeeper is the king inside his area, if he's first on the ball he's right!

That isn't completely true. Because there's some footballing limits regarding these goalkeeper challenges. You can't assault your opponent while you're going for the ball first. Just lke there are some tackles that punished with yellow or red cards regarding at their dangerous play extent, same goes for goalkeepers as well.

I’m not against the thought that goalkeepers shouldn’t be allowed to recklessly smack into forwards just because they punch the ball first. However that’s just not the way the game has been refereed for 100 years.

Perfect example of moving the goalposts. Maignan was late and there was no foul given. Sommer was on time with his challenge and all of a sudden it’s reckless play. You can’t tell me the pressure from the media isn’t playing a role in this.
