Hi guys.
I can't believe how fast time has passed us by, it has been 10 years since the founding of this forum. 4 March 2004, a trio of Interisti looking for a new home decided to go at it and created this forum, which has since proudly became the best and biggest English-speaking Inter forum in the web. We literally went through it all, on the pitch, and on the web. We witnessed a heartbreaking second EuroDerby elimination, perennial CL underachievers and the current post-Treble hangover. But in the past 10 years, we also experienced joy such as 4 (or 5) consecutive Scudetti and the motherfucking Treble.
The forum itself also went through many events. It hasn't been smooth sailing; we were attacked by hackers, stupid ads from the free server, Turkish trolls, we even had to endure an exodus by some of us but not we only did we survive, we strived and we succeeded. It wouldn't be possible without each and everyone of you. I really would like to thank all the members from the bottom of my heart. This forum was created not as a personal toy but because we wanted Interisti to have a second home in the Internet. It wouldn't have existed without all of you here. Even if we sometimes don't see eye to eye, even if we have differing opinions, I wouldn't trade anything in the world for you guys.
Now I'd like to give a little history lesson, I'm sure some of you guys are interested on the beginning of this forum. Back in the early 2000s, there was an Inter forum called Interforums (interforums.com). It was the FIF of that time. Coincidentally, it was owned by another Indonesian. If I'm not wrong, Josh was his name. In the late 2003 or early 2004, I can't exactly recall what happened, but the owner of that forum unfairly stripped the admin privileges of a co-founder of this forum. He did it without any warning, and no explanation was given. So me, Timothy Jonathan (AKA Miki) and this guy (He doesn't want his name associated with this forum, but I think you know who) decided to leave InterForums due to the unjust treatment and started Forza Inter. Most of the mods and admins followed us, because the firing really made no single sense. Not long after, majority of the members followed to Forza Inter. It didn't take long before InterForums closed down because, like I said, a forum is about its members and Forza Inter had most of them.
It was a hard time for sure for us in the beginning. We were still in college I believe and had to fork out hundreds of dollars a month to run the forum. We had to ask for donations, set aside a portion of our money, but it was all worth it. We're really proud of what we did and what this forum has became.
I also wanna mention a few words about the above-mentioned exodus in 2008, which was a nothing short of gigantic misunderstanding because of a prank. God that was some stupid shit lol. Basically two admins pulled prank on one another which led to a split and a creation of another forum. It was called Pazza Inter but it has since closed down and I believe most of their members have now came back to FIF. I have since buried the hatchet with them because after all, Inter is what's most important for all of us.
I would now like to give special mentions to some members who have been extraordinary help for this forum. I apologize if I miss out on some people, but please understand that it's been 1 decade. :embarass: Tim, Enricos, Ehsan, vitomins & vasilios have been absolutely invaluable for this forum by helping sort the technical computer stuff backstage. Look, I've been an admin in FIF for 10 years but I still know almost absolute zero jack shit about these stuff. MySQL server vBulletin backups FTP whatever the fuck, I'm as good as I4E when it comes to these things. There were also some mods & admins who have been policing this place very well, I think Stefan really picked up the slack a few years ago when I was totally swamped with work when I first came back to Indonesia. Not forgetting of course, the rest of the old and current mod team like Hamed, Ziyad, Pajo, Shaun, Dylan, I4E, Forza ragazzi, Helal, etc.
I mentioned above that there were donors for this forum and I'd like to thank them for their financial support throughout the years. It's impossible to name all of them but I've kept a list in this thread. There are also some members, who were not mods & admins, but were still major contributors to the forum. I'm a sucker for Inter videos and Edlaut, Five Stars & Bessi have been done a great job over the years. Frisko regularly posted some Inter stats and also the covers of Gazzetta dello Sport. vitomins I believe helped with some stats and also with the translations. And more recently Michael has done a tremendous job with the translations and also tons of coverage of Inter news. I believe Michael went through some personal problem in recent months and that he'll be back soon. Stay strong Mike.
I'd also like to announce that we will be doing some tweaks in the forum designs. Verathia has helped us a lot with it and I'd like to thank him for that. And btw, it should also be mentioned that he really put up a lot of efforts in those match threads. Hope to see more of them soon and please do understand if we merge/close your thread even if you start it first, because you can see that Vera doesn't do half-assed jobs on those. We will also be giving out special new badges to honor the members who have been with us from 2004, and still browse/post the forum this year.
I think that's basically it. This post has been a gigantic tl,dr anyway. Once again, I'd like to give shoutouts to my fellow co-founders. Unfortunately they are no longer posting but I really hope that they'd come back to us. And also special thanks to EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU and this forum would not exist, it would be impossible, without all of you here.
