Inter cancel Moretti date
Friday 4 July, 2008
Inter have pulled out of this summer’s Birra Moretti Trophy on August 21, which would have pitted the Nerazzurri against Juventus and Napoli.
The tournament has taken place annually since 1997 and has been won by Juventus five times, Inter three times and by Napoli and Udinese once each.
Inter won last year’s competition after beating Napoli 2-0 and triumphing over Juve 1-0 – David Suazo was the Player of the Tournament.
Sources suggest that new boss Jose Mourinho has requested that the Beneamata pull out of the Naples event and they will be hit by a fine for their late decision.
The Biscione’s city rivals Milan are expected to take their place and the confirmation should follow shortly.
So who's gonna take the penalty?! Jose Mourinho?!
Its a charity thing... I'd like my club to be charitable for something else rather than help portuguese clubs with 35m euros
