- Is in the top 5 defensive midfielder world wide
- Can score
- Is one of the bravest football players I've ever seen
- Is a very good passer, he's statistics in the WC were about 91%
- Can play in different positions
- even though he is short, he is very very good header

I think the reason he fell under most CL teams' radar is that he, like James Rodriguez, is one of those players who really blew up during the World Cup and only came to the world's attention once they showed their stuff in that competition.

...well, maybe not the best comparison since Rodriguez was fairly hyped before that too, but he became a ridiculously hot property after his World Cup performance and was taken by Madrid for what IMO was a highly inflated price.

...but you get my point. Some players needed the World Cup to achieve the level of recognition that they currently enjoy, even if they were just as good but far less well known before it.

I still think they will both start, with mvila sitting in the center protecting the back three, medel going box to box protecting the midfield on the right, and Kovacic (rotating with Hernanes) starting on the left of midfield but with instructions to cut towards the middle and supply the two strikers up front.

You really think Hernanes will start ahead of Kovacic? Perhaps in the early part of the season but how about once Kova fully recovers?

I don't believe he's one of the top 5 defensive midfielders in the world, but that doesn't mean he's not a good player.

Vidal went to a Europe-less Juve for around the same price. Champions League teams skipping on a certain player means shit all. Like thatdude said, Milito and Motta weren't wanted by any CL teams except us at the time despite being very solid players.
