It was time to get rid of the pitbull and replace him with a sighthound in midfield, but dat sad emoticon with the plane flying over San Siro.

It has not been easy for me to leave. I want to thank all those who have been part of these three wonderful years: my teammates, coaches, doctors, physiotherapists and all other people who work at this wonderful club. Thank you to the leaders who have always been very close to me, and especially to the fans who have always shown me so much affection: good luck for what will come, I will always follow you. Big hug and Forza Inter!

PR and stuff, but still respect. Forza Medel

What was his wage btw ?

I am still struggling to understand why we offloaded this guy for that ridiculous amount of money and got in this situation where we don't have any backup nor in defence nor in DM position....

Some Turk journalist has come out and said that Medel did not get any space at Inter. It appears the journalist somehow managed to overlook the fact that Mancini and Pioli both picked Medel, regardless of how shit he was. I'm so glad we showed him the door.

Maybe he means this season with Spalletti who thought him as a Trequartista.

Medel: "I've given my soul to Inter. I'm sorry we haven't won anything. The problem? A lof of confusion"

Gary Medel, grinta, heart and longs. The former Inter midfielder has given an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport. From Inter to Besiktas, the team where he decided to move last summer and with which he's currently third in the Super Lig, the Turkish league, four points away from Galatasaray who's on top. Many memories for the player who remains bound to his former team, even if he didn't get to win anything in more than 100 played games: "I've given my soul to Inter, I really regret we haven't won a trophy though. I'm sorry because I've dreamed about this shirt since I'm a child and not being able to get the satisfaction to win something with Inter has stayed on my mind".

How does he explain it? "There was too much confusion. It's difficult when there are so many changes in the same time and even for Suning who is on the other side of the world, it would be better with an Italian owner like Moratti".

"So many changes on the bench? A consequence, according to me, from the confusion. This also brings bad results. The best example is Mancini: if even someone like him leaves in August, it means things aren't going well. He's a great coach like Bielsa. In 2015 we were at the first spot in the first part of the season before getting a bad moment: I think we weren't ready to be there on top. This jersey is and wasn't for everyone. Being at Inter also means there's some kind of pressure not easy to handle and the more years without winning go by, the bigger this pressure gets".

From his Inter to the current one, who's fighting for a Champions League spot: "Is it possible? Roma got back together, Lazio isn't out of the race and Milan is getting back. It won't be easy but Inter can't allow to fail again or it would be disastrous. Spalletti is a great coach and has been immediately clear, telling me that he needed players with good passing for his defense and midfield so I would have to evaluate my possibilities. He offered me to try to be his trequartista but I should have adapted and It would have been really difficult".

"I had a lot of opportunities last summer, in Spain and Mexico but this is a great club. Would I get back to Italy? No, no. There's only Inter for me in Serie A. How is the league? I thought it would be easier but the level is really high, there's a lot of concurrence in my team. We could win the league but there are four teams competing for it".

Allegedly.

I guess he just wants a warrior in that position. That's why it was never going to be someone from the midfield we had up until January. And even now Rafinha is not fit for that role, so Spalletti wants Barella for that role.

I think that was just Spallettis way of saying you will not be playing in front of defense for me. No way he seriously thought Medel could play AM

I don't know man, Medel would have fit nicely with our Bermuda's Triangle of backpasses between Handa, Skriniar, and Miranda.

well, I certainly don't want Handa making backpasses, but I get what you mean

Medel and Nagatomo both have been a good season in Turkish league. Medel is a beast ,a warrior as usual but Nagatomo is really surprised me. I wouldn't expect his great performance.

Not suprised one bit by Nagatomo myself, he was great in the first half of this season for us, had we not loaned him I'd still prefer him over D'ambrosio on the left flank. If we botch it up I hope he stays in Turkey, he deserves to play CL football. Hopefully he also does well in Russia.

Nagatomo was probably our top 5 best player from dark era especially between 2011-2015, well the only player above him on that era is only Handa, Palacio, Guarin, Icardi who else lol. But ofc people put the bar too high so he always being underestimated.
