I wouldn't call it an amazing performance! I am still not that impressed with him this season, he is improving starting from the CWC but just cuz he did some positive moves and a couple of passes shouldn't please us yet.

Formations can change at times and the players still might not perform to the best of their abilities.
Pandev did good yesterday, so lets give credit where credit is due! ;) (and this is coming from someone
who isn't their biggest fan!)

I think Pandev might actually work better as a sub....

Someone else like who? Him and Biabiany were the only options on the bench. :) Biabiany is not the type of player that is useful in games like that where no space is give to use his pace.

good point, but my rationale on this is that the change in formation spread out our play alot more. this gave more time and space to our central players. im not taking anything away from pandev, he played well. but do you see what i mean when i say "anyone". i know its a bit generalised, but the fact that eto and pandev moved out wide helped us greatly. which is why i give much credit to leo yesterday, he saw what needed to be done, just like many of us here, and actually did something about it.

typical for you
eto`o was playing like winger all the time
Motta (our central player) failed to make the connection between the defense and the strikers, which was the main reason of our poor playing in the first half
he prooved that he is not capable to play in that role (no accurate pass, poor vision) he can play, maybe as a defensive midfilder, unlike Goran who always took at least two defenders on him, which ofcourse made more space for the others, not to mention the balls he can deliver. Example of this is the first goal

But i think that under Leonardo Motta will always be ahead Goran
Shame !!!!1

I don't understand how there could be a comparison. Motta ahead of Pandev or not, he plays a completely different position and role to Pandev.

Me neither... :rollani:

to compare the playing time of the forwards, or even wesley for that matter is fine, but comparing motta and pandev, just doesnt cut in.. Anyone cares to explain?

Eto'o was totally useless, I can't think of one good move of him except for the one cutting through but even that attempt didn't end with a finishing. Too much dribbling in a very compact Catania's defense. Pandev insert was a good move by Leo and no other player on the bench would have made the same impact :) I understand your point though black.

Of course.

What is the problem anyway, Pandev should be a bench player. Someone has to be. Tho I'd rather put Milito if he continues like this.

Btw Pandev is not world class, aside from the bias i'm in since he is my countryman. I'm all for letting those players who are in the best form to play. What i did notice about Pandev, is that he has vision and used in the right place, in the right time, he could really help for the flair in our game. He is creative when he plays as an AM, i guess CF is not his best thing, since it's been a long time. But he and Rocci, and later he and Zarate made wonders in Lazio.

Neither can play in the other's position so no point in comparing them.

there can bi a dillema for Leonardo
playing with Motta in the middle, and giving him chance to run forward from time to time like he did with napoli or playing Goran in the forward
My intention was not to compare them as players
maybe i was not clear enough ..... my mistake
i just wanted to say that Goran can give much more in the middle and in the attack then Motta
i`m saying this cause in the last two games Motta was the man who was supposed to make the link between the defense and the offence and he clearly failed
IMHO deffensive midfilder is his maximum
Another thing
i`m comapairing Goran and Thiago cause when Wesley comes back, who will play Motta or Goran will depend from the tactic Motta more defencive formation - Goran more offencive formation
i hope i made my self clear

but still, what has mottas running upfront has to do with pandev. If pandev is played he will be played as AM/SS/CF, while mota is DM/CM, and maybe AM... Still, they play on totally different positions, so it cant be really compared.

i agree with nate though. pandev on form is great player, maybe not world class, ut great nevertheless. He showed A LOTS of improvement in the past 3 games, and if he keeps this way, id rather see him ahead of Milito, even now.

When Snijder is back, he automatically takes over AM, so that means Motta is CM. And Pandev is out of the blue, he will be on the bench if we are using the same formation as we are now. I don't get what is so hard to understand.
