He won't be out for a month...he's training with the Argentina, and he said that he even may play some part in the final on Sunday

Crespo is on the bench for the final tonight. Hope to see him in action as a sub

The Seleccion is expected to field the same XI that thrashed Mexico in the semi-final with Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez upfront.

Inter hitman Crespo will be on the bench after a remarkably fast recovery from a muscular injury he suffered against Colombia less than a fortnight ago.

The former Lazio and Milan man was thought to be sidelined for at least a month after he pulled a muscle in his right thigh when taking a penalty, but he is already back in shape.

I hope he doesn't play so he won't aggravate his injury.

Hey Interfans...I always wonderes about Crespo? is he fast or quick? Is he quicker than Adriano? Thanks! Because he is such a master of positioning he usually only needs 1-4 moves before he executes/unleashes a shot ;)

I read that he's 'deceptively quick' I didn't know what to make of it. I never noticed any genuine pace in him....even when he was with us...but then again sheva was really fast.

It's not that Crespo needs speed at all...he's too smart and his technique is flawless......he would have been legendary if he weren't so injury prone

- How does it feel not being in the centre of the transfer market for a change?
“After 5 years I love it not to be in the middle of it and always be waiting for the phone to ring.”

- How do you feel now after your injury?
“I don’t know. I mean I don’t feel any more pain, but I haven’t touched the ball yet. I need to train with the group and see how I feel, day by day. I’m not in a rush to set a return date. It’s not just up to me anyway, it’s up to Mancini as well. I might be able to play in the Trofeo TIM, I’d like that.”

- You think you’ll be ready for the Supercup game against Roma?
“We’re all thinking of that game already. I’ll try my best. I was in a similar situation last year, I came on in the second half and things didn’t go so bad, right? Maybe history can repeat itself.”

-Are Inter starting this season from where they left off?
“Last season was incredible. Getting 97 points is almost absurd. We enjoyed that very much, but now a new season is starting. We don’t need to learn new things, we just need to work hard. We don’t need to discover how it feels to win something important. And we know what we need to do to beat all our opponents.”

- You really want to win the Champions League right? It’s like a curse for you…
“It’s not a curse, it’s destiny. I can’t say that the CL is as important as Lo Scudetto, you just can’t choose between the two.

- Are you favourites with Pato’s Milan?
“It’s not up to me to talk about Milan and I’m not interested in doing so.

- Too many strikers?
Let’s say that there won’t be lack of competition, it was already hard last year. But nobody has ever died for going on the bench or in the stands. If you play for Inter you know that happens. You need to put your personal feelings aside, Inter comes first. Also I say, and I mean it, that there’ll be room for everyone.

- Do you mind that people expect you to score 15-20 goals per season?

“No, thank God I always scored goals. I’d like to score 18 goals this season, that would take me to 200 goals in Italy. Considering that I’m starting my 10th season over here, that’d make it a nice 20 goals per year. Just like it says on the tin.”

I thought he scored 200 goals last season? I even remember his ceremony. (From Adriano's assist)

20 goals per season is absurd. What a legend.

This guy is a ****ing god. Hes been a ****ing legend since 21, and hes STILL performing at that level. If ONLY he hadnt gone to chelsea, just think how great he would have been. He would have continued at that PHENOMENAL level he was at before Chelsea.
24 goals for Parma, 26 goals for lazio, breaking the CL scoring record (9 goals in 8 games i think) in the first half of the season. It just pisses me off that hes SO underrated. Hes a model ****ing professional, he NEVER complains, sits on the bench when required to, and goes out there and does his job like a ****ing pro. Always scores, year in, year out.
Never been in a controversy, never been in a fight, NO drugs issues, NO partying issues, almost NEVER been thru a bare patch in his life (except for 2 months while at Milan) and has NEVER been accused of slacking off or anything.
Perfect role model for a striker. He really deserves to be a legend at a club. I just wish he had stayed at one club for 9-10 years. He would be a true legend for them.

I'm a Milan fan, and i still love this guy. LOVED him when he played for us (probably my favourite season supporting milan since 1998), and even though he moved to Inter, all that that has done has made my rivalvry with inter less intense.
he deserves a ****ing champions league. He did EVERYTHING possible in 2005 to give us a CL win, and had he not been taken off at 75 mins, he would definitely have scored the double chance that shevchenko missed in extra time.
Gosh. LOVE this bloke. I almost want to buy an Inter jersey just to have his name.

Crespo 11 - that was his number while he was with us, till gaylardino took it. :p
Well, heres hoping to another top-class season from Il Valdanito. Just hope he gets to start, god knows he deserves it with Zlatan.
Much as I hate to say it, that is MILES better than Ronaldo-Gila or Ronaldo-Pippo.

For as long as I've been watching him, it seems likes he scores goals for fun. Doesn't matter what team he's with or the players around him, he finds a way. Can't wait to see him back in action.

Having Crespo injuried when the season goes into the vital stages would surely make it difficult for it. What he said in the interview Frisko posted, proves this is a perfect player. Quality, respect, fighting spirit and a "the team comes first" attitude.

You have cut your hair. How come?
"It all started with a bet I made. I said I'd cut it if I managed to stay at Inter... In the end I liked it."
