I'm very glad I was not one of those who didn't want him from the start - we know who those were :]. There was a few guys who said we will be suprised positively(so nicely done to those :thumbsup
, but there were many others(I don't know, why some are acting, like they're the only ones who didn't wish all bad for him once he came) who said "Ok, it's just a loan, in worse case scenario he will be back in the summer, but then again he might suprise us and be good squad option". Glad I was in that group. I thought he will be back in the summer with Genoa though, so I was wrong about that, but the fighting chance he deserved, he got it, and seems he is a suprise to many of us.
Watchin "The Kar"
closely in yesterdays game, I have to say... I think he fits our current team, and the way Leo plays like a glove.
First of all, he is probably the most mobile midfielder for us at the moment. Dejan was very mobile once, but he got fuckin old
, he is still a good midfielder, but he ain't as mobile, as quick as he was once. Stamina is still there though.
So mobility is number 1 what I like, and I bet this is one of the things Leo loves about him.
Second, he works his ass off. He might not be Muntari, but he is fucking close! He runs from one player to the other to apply pressing, he covers at the back(I saw him in Maicon position couple times yesterday, and never saw Cuchu doing the same for instance), and he has pretty good tactical sense. Speaking of Muntari, he deffinetly beats him in the "brains" department, that's for sure. Seems pretty inteligent guy.
Third, he is pretty good fuckin tackler! He is not afraid of physical chalanges, this fuckin sliding tackle that he got a yellow yesterday was fuckin perfect!!! Tagliavento was a fuckin moron to give a yellow for that. Also there was this other time, when he stole the ball from Simplicio - also whistled (WTF).
Fourth, offensive skills. He is deffinetly the best midfielder in terms of passing skills aside from Motta. Dejan is still there, but his main qualities lay somewhere else. "The Kar" though is pretty composed on his passing, he is cool, he knows how to driblle, or make a feint to find in a good passing position. So DEFINETLY an improvement over Muntari. Lets just hope it's not another Pandev case, being good for couple weeks, and then starting to suck.
The one thing I hope will stay is his hard-work and determination. This is a very nice suprise, and we need someone like that. He works his ass off, closing down, running from guy to guy, covering for Maicon when he is running forward. I just REALLY REALLY hope it is not because he is just loaned yet, and when we will buy him(and atm it seems almost like a certainity) he will turn like Milito turned this year.
He shouldn't also play too much as a Wes substitute. I mean he sitll can play there, do a decent job, better than Pandev there, that's for sure, but he should be third option exequo with Dejan, after Wes and Philippe.
So in summary, it seems Branca did it again. This is why I've said sometime ago, when we buy someone, Branca should be given some credit(because of his past deals) for choosing this particular player. At this moment, he seems like "our" Kevin Prince Boateng, who was also a very nice suprise for milan.
