we played 3 awful games bt i think its all because of the hard training and mazzari s rotation of the first 11
so we shouldnt read to much into the these friendlies

mazzari knew that with the current squad it is impossible to play an effective 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 ( worst rwb & lwb performance ever seen ) still he was brave enough to test it against top teams

now with the return of kovacic , and a signing of an rwb and a worthy dmf we should have a solid team this year
although our newcomers need alot of time get used to playing with each other so i think we should aim for a champions league spot bt nt expect it from mazzari in his first season

Just went through the highlights of this game, and it confirmed what I've been saying for at least 3 years now. Buffon has totally lost it. Not only was he poor on Guarin's shot, but also on the followup. He saw well in time where Alvarez was going, but didn't get down on time for it.

Maybe he did it on purpose so Inter still bank on Alvarez and then suffer later :troll:

Mazzarri is really disappointing but not that I didn't expect it. Too much individualism in attack, no systemic methods for creating attacks, still can't hold the ball under pressure, still need to defend in numbers to look decent defensively. Same shit tbh.

I hope people saw how Juve's attacks were very structured in what they were looking to do. Tons of variations and patterns to their attack. A lot of it didn't work out today, but they were consistently trying it. Lots of balls into strikers feet, 1st striker dummies, balls going wide then back inside to mid then penetrating forward pass e.t.c.

When we have the ball it's all fricking freestyle. Whatever guarin/ricky feel to do, we do  Just like last year, it'll work in some games but it's not a method for creating chances on goal consistently. Especially in those tight games. This is why we failed last year. Our methods were simply haul the ball up to cassano/palacio and hope something happens. Every good attack v Juve was on the counter (nothing new) with ricky dribbling or palacio making amazing diagonal runs. Palacio is subbed and the new kids don't have that kind of intelligence so our attacks stop. Ricky gets tired and he can't go on mazy individualistic runs, so our attacks stop.

On a POSITIVE note, we have a decent crop of youngsters who should get to play and play often. Olsen, Icardi, Belfodil, Obi, Kova, Duncan. I personally wouldn't buy any more players and demand that Mazzarri be a real COACH (not manager) and make these guys play good football. The only thing stopping us from playing good football is competence in coaching/management.

I honestly want to see what Ricky can do in a more structured environment where he's coached to use his talents selectively and more effectively. Creativity within the system versus all out improvisation. It's what I wanted to see happen with coutinho also last year under strama, but we're seeing some of it with 'Pool right now. Sadly, doesn't look like that's going to happen here for Ricky. Same for belfodil tbh. Raw, raw talent that needs coaching.

N4L. Pretty harsh judgement to compare an Inter that's been under Mazzarri for 4 weeks and had a rude awakening to 3-5-2 with a manager so inexperienced as Stramaccioni to a Juventus that had a team that has been well accustomed to a style of play under a manager that has been with the group for 2+ years.

On another note, as N4L mentioned about Olsen, Icardi, Belfodil, Kova, Duncan. Is there any knuckleheads that still can't see a youth project ???

Didn't think I needed to go through this again, as I've posted it before. This is pretty similar to the excuse-making we do for mercato team as well.

Conte changed Juve's style of play in his FIRST pre-season with them 3 years ago. If I have time, I'll dig up my post when I saw them in pre-season and what I posted back then. They were not polished, but DISTINCT and noticeable difference in play, even during pre-season. Montella did the same last year with Fiorentina and even more fucked up, he had basically 8-9 new starting players. He did it in pre-season and during pre-season games, they were already different. Again, not polished, but different. If you think about it, Montella changed to 3 in the back, changed their style, adapted the style to playing without real forwards, then changed their formation to 4 in the back all in ONE SEASON and they played very good football all the way through. Zeman did it with Roma last year in pre-season. They changed style completely and did it during pre-season. Allegri changed Milan DURING THE SEASON. Formation change plus slightly tweaked method of attacking and creating chances.

Make no mistake. It is being done all around us but we insist on making excuses for our coach and saying they need time. Yes, the coach needs time (and players) to PERFECT his system or he needs time for his system to manifest into RESULTS. He does not need a lot of time to start moving the team in the right direction. Damn. I feel like I'm saying the same shit like I did with strama when people said strama needed time as he was "fixing the defense"....

Anyways, I haven't seen anything at all from Mazzarri but that is not a surprise to me. He's a typical italian MANAGER.

What changes in attack are you seeing? I am not even seeing us TRYING anything different. Same goes for defense. What changes in defensive scheme are you seeing? What changes in the middle are you seeing? How about transitioning? Any changes there? Any ATTEMPTS of changes there?

Remember, we just finished 9th, worst placing in like 15-20 years. You would think SOMETHING needs to be changed....unless we really believe it was "luck", "refs", or "injuries" that made us place that badly

well,, with olsen on field rather than cambi I see some hope we can play some football
like in late 30 minutes againts juve or match before valencia and chelsea,,
with new guys, we play some short pass and play more calmed with ball not always tried some long ball
I impressed how that little change can made such as different style
and hard to admit our second team always play better than starting line up so far,,
if there's problem with the old guy who can changes his playing style,,
its better to mazzari used some new player who can implement his tactic rather than play some old stuff from last year,,

On another note, as N4L mentioned about Olsen, Icardi, Belfodil, Kova, Duncan. Is there any knuckleheads that still can't see a youth project ???

and juan,,
still waiting to kova back on field
and playing with them

Icardi - Belfodil
Ricky
Laxalt/obi - kova - Olsen - XXX
Juan - Rano - XXX

I believe this line up playing better than our starting line up so far,,
