What a show from the most paid coach in the league, play defensively for 80 minutes in friendly , open up for 5, and if we don't score in that period again lock down....

I don't post about football anymore...but let me tell you, I have watched a few Inter games this pre-season and I can safely say our only hope for silverware is the Tim cup.

I know it is just pre-season, but that doesn't change the fact that we just simply have ZERO offensive game. We have nothing going forward. An offensive game can also help your defense look better than they really are since they'll be under less pressure.

In previous pre-seasons I was ok with looking this poor because I hoped it would only get better.

No. We have gone backwards.

Tbh I miss Rafa and Leonardo. They were the only two ever coaches who tried to make Inter play real football. I think with a team that no longer has the Cambiassos and Zanettis...a manager like that would actually suit right about now.

Anyway my once a year post is done. I'll engage more when we have something that resembles an offensive game.

I guess it will not be for a while until we hear from you again. Mostly likely following the sacking of Mazzarri and the appointment of a new coach that has an idea.

another below average pre-season game. i'll still wait for official game in iceland. but it's valid to say that from last season to this pre season, mazzari doesnt know how to use player like kovacic, hernanes, alvarez, and botta in their full potential. creative players in general doesnt seem to meet mazzari's game plan.

i agree with most opinions here, mazzari is too one dimensional as a coach.

Give him a bottom table team and he'll finish mid-table. Give him a top team and he'll finish mid-table.

Or give him time and he'll give you second place, like his last Napoli year

At Napoli he played a completely different type of football. It's clear by the way he's setting the team to play, he has no intention of building a counterattacking team.

There's a reason why I would have much preferred that we pursued a creative midfielder instead of another DM in Medel. If long balls to Icardi and Palacio are going to be our go to route for goals this season then this is going to be a great season.. for Roma, Juventus, Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina...

And Cavani and Hamsik had nothing to do with that?

 Typical Inter attacking football under mister Mazzarri, deliver a long ball three seconds into kickoff and consequently turn it over to the opposing team.

Without a cohesive plan in attack (and a lack of creative outlets down the middle for that matter), this team will inevitably have a difficult time creating quality goal-scoring opportunities against teams who park the bus against us. The Europa league qualifier against that Icelandic team should be one hell of a cracker (or snoozer).

These games have showed 1 thing: Mazzari overstrains THE FUCK out of SS in 3-5-2, and that's the most important position. We are overly dependent on that position for EVERYTHING offensively. We need a really really fucking good SS backup. Ljajic, Giovinco, Cerci, etc...

At Napoli he overstrained the CF (Cavani) with work in dropping back, while here he's overstraining a 33 year old forward in lateral movement.

When he was in CL, Napoli finished 5th in Serie A, which shows how much emphasis he places on fitness.
