I repeat, we played 4-2-3-1 with Javier Cuchu in the middle, and with Dejan on the wing.

Don't you remember Wes switching positions with wingers versus Roma ? I do. Did we play 4-2-3-1 versus Roma ? YUP.

This was nothing new, we played the same as we did with Roma, but with less swapping between Diego and Sammy, as Sammy mostly stayed on the wing.

The fauls Rafa did IMO, were that he didn't changed Chriss/Javier sooner. He should put Javier instead of Chriss, and put either Dejan to the midfield and see how he looks like and then change him if he will still not do good, or sub right away for BigMac. Later on Pandev for Dejan. IMO, we lost this game in our heads, not in our abbilities, or tacticly. When you're not in right state of mind, or not determined, or mentaly ready for the game the tactic isn't important no matter how good it is.

I don't take blame out of Rafa, obviously a result always hangs onto the coach, but I'm sure we all saw the same game, and we all saw this was not "our usual team". No grit.

Who gives a fuck if we played the fucking 4-2-3-1, it THE FORMATION CAN'T POSSIBLY WORK IF WE HAVE A SLOW AS CM AS OUR WINGER!

We've been pampered by Mou, getting used to winning trophy after trophy.

It's still very early in the season, Benitez will need to know the players' characteristics to get the best out of them. Yes indeed he's running out of time. The last coach left behind a winning team that play like a machine, each player doing their part to get the team to win. I think Benitez is moving the pieces around the pitch a bit and this will affect our game. For example, he's playing Eto closer to goal hence Milito appears to be in the shadow. The team dynamics is a bit different now. Can our team adjust and get used to this new gameplan to keep winning? Only time will tell.

Again maybe I dont sound objective and reasonable, most of the time I am :) ... but this is how I am when it comes to benitez. I never liked him and I admit it's not an argument but I watched Liverpool too much all this seasons with him and in general picture he is not good coach by me, hell he is even worst manager with all that shity buys... no my friend when it comes to benitez I cant talk about football tactics... and I will not write in this forums I told you in the near future... it wont matter then... PS. I admit I am a pesimist by nature :) but again I will not back down with this... you can all call me stupid hell I will first write that I am stupid if I would be wrong

Maicon made many runs tonight that we didn't even see, because he wasn't provided the ball. Its like the team wanted to involve the left flank, as well, but to the detriment of our attack as a whole. Milito - Sneijder - Maicon, our success depends on those three linking up, put them as near each other as tactically possible!!! I,.E. NO MORE SNEIJDER IN LEFT MID!!! How can he link up with Maicon if he is on the left???

Tonight was Benitez trying to be different to Mourinho, just for the sake of being different to Mourinho. FAIL! Don't dare do it again, Benitez, if we fail we want to fail using our best players IN THEIR BEST POSITIONS.

But Rafas first words as Inter manager were like " My first job here is to make sure there is still motivation in players.." Tonight I didnt saw none of it..It was just huge mess all over it, with no signs
Agreed. As I've said, this game to me was lost more in the heads, than on the field.

But we have to get used to it. We all knew that there ain't another Jose Mourinho. We won't have the team with siege mentality all the time, our players won't be having as many games with this motivation.

I'm not saying we should be ok with performance like today, I'm just saying that Jose put the bar unnaturaly high, and I think it would be better for the health of many people here to lower it down a bit :p

Come down. If we'll see Rafa playing over and over again Dejan there, I will jump onto "I hate Dejan on the wing" bashwagon.

A game can be won or lost..And it was a Cup game..We lost it today..We lost the chance to equal Barcas record..Its a bitter pill, but it went like this..

What Im worried is that if we somehow couldnt get our heads right, Roma can be so much ahead even after week 5..Serie A is what Im worried about..

I couldnt agree more especially this about serie A... wait and see grand master of fuck ups ... how he will fuck up great team...

I am a member of serie a fan club in my town, we watch serie a for years... lots of people younger and older are there, supporting different teams, we also have a radio show about serie a ... and one thing that most of the people agree on is that benitez is the biggest chance for all other serie a contenders...

Well weren't all this members writing over here convinced that we didn't need to sign anyone because we won the treble.....???

Anyway let's get on the match:

1. I don't want to see any fucking comparison with mou . If there is smn to blame why we are in the situation that we have to fit in with a new coach , a new aproach in the game and possibly a new tactic it is exatly Mourinho and his fucking ego that made him go.

2. Rafa showed some big problems both in starting line up and most important in game reading and reaction (how the fuck can you replace sneijder who is the most important player when the team is not playing good since he can score from long shots or free kicks).
But still it's not rafa's fault that we lost but the general attitude of the players.

3. How come the 4 players that got all the prizes yesterday in the CL were the worst on the field , i call it overconfidence. Milito , sneijder and maicon were way far their usual performances. I don't understand why maicon has this fall ups in concentration during the first half of the season , he was just staying laid on the pitch during the 2nd goal watching it like he was a fan and not a player.

4. I don't understand this physical condition excuse by rafa. Why the hell should atletico have a better fitness condition while we started the season 1 weak before them and the spanish primera starts one week after seria A. It should be the other way around and if it isn't i know who to blame. AND above all if stankovic/zanneti are not in shape to press for 90 min then why don't you use the best player of the summer campaign mariga.

5. The tranfer campaign. I'm really pissed on this issue. THis should have been the easier transfer campaign ever. The team was ready , it only needed a back up for sneijder(which was already bought 2 years ago in coutinho) , some young CB for the future (that was done) and as for the first team it was needed only a striker/winger of a certain level and a fucking LEFT BACK. And what happened not only we didn't bought anyone but we also sold the only joker we had and now we have to keep going with chivu over there.

I hope that this loss serves to the team to lay their had down and restart working hard. We are NOT THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD , to win we need to work our asses 150% like we did last year and not act like superstars.

Just remember the beginnings of Mourinho. He came, won supercup, then we didn't have some good moment, lost some games and played terribly. We lost again in 1/8. We made changes, we won CL.

All I mean, is that Benitez might need some time too to adapt to everything. Too bad just that he decided to play 3 of our players to play out of position in such an important game :(

Dude, if this was a random ass game I wouldn't care...BUT THIS IS FINAL, no fucking time for experimenting.

Why dude people compare this game to the some random fucking Serie A games? I don't think I'll ever see us win this shit, and I really wanted something to be happy about this week. Been waiting the whole summer for this game, then Mr. Potatohead decides to fuck the whole system up.

If we started the same set-up we started the CL final (which was virtually the same today except for Dejan-Pandev) you would find something else to blame Rafa for.

He made one change which was Dejan. I wouldn't call it an Experiment. Maybe experiment.

If he started with the formation we never played, that would be experiment. We played really almost the same set-up, definetly same formation. The game would be lost no matter who would play today. Our team was not mentaly ready to win this game today. It was too obvious after just first half.

I wonder how much were they influenced by this game. Like 90-100% ? :p

Be honest ;)

Lol you guys are fuckin hilarious...we beat Man City 3-0 in a friendly and you praise Rafa and say we look incredible, then we put in a bad performance and say we will struggle to win serie A and Rafa is an idiot...

Now I am beginning to remember why I hated this place for a short period last year.

With changes in form come changes in criticism. Sadly, Benitez has had a dip in form. Against Man City he played the "right" formation and "right" players. He didn't tonight. That warrants criticism. Firing? Not quite. But a little bit of hate and doubt is definitely in order.

Rafa didn't prepare at all for this game, playing high defence against Forlan and Aguero with Stankovic as a new born winger or what? The mental thing came later when our team realized that there's something dead wrong and got no support from the side whatsoever.

When he won CL, surely he must have do good in other games prior to that. Or do you consider he just went on nothing but luck for all the 13 games ?
