I'm serious... he was at fault for both goals. Awful performance. Looked like he didn't give a fuck, mercenary.

If the only reason you're here is to bash our players, I suggest you GTFO.

To all of those with sense on this forum, this is what I meant by not allowing others to criticize your team.

This has nothing to do with which team I support. This is just stating an opinion, that Maicon was at fault for both goals and looked like he didn't care, thus I think he played shit. Just like how I think Eto'o played well, even though he was played horribly out of position.

Benitez fucked you up today. Is he feeling the Mourinho pressure this early?

This was a rather tough loss. Luckily I won't be throwing up or anything like how I've encountered my other teams lose worse. Hopefully this will fire them up for Serie A in the opener against Bologna.

You're right, he pretty much was at fault for both goals. But a mercenary? Look no further than Zlatan.

Maicon wanted a new adventure and didn't even make a fuss. He let the club deal with it all. Real were stingy and the deal fell through. Stop trying to troll, do that in the real mercenaries thread (ibra).

How is Maicon at fault for both goals? Cesar could have/should have? saved the first goal, he never gets beat to the near post. On the second goal, god only knows what Lucio was doing. First wandering towards the ball, then making a horrendous attempted tackle once the cross was delivered.

Did Maicon play great? No, no one on the team did. This match just showed our desperate need for someone to play on the left side, and the fact that Zanetti needs to replace Chivu at LB.

It was a very disappointing way to not get the 6 trophies ! The team looked a bit jaded and maybe that would explain the capitulation. However, I don't think Rafa's insistence on playing Wesley on the wing (as well as the other baffling decisions) helped much and it was typically stubborn of Benitez to not try to change things around at half time. It must be strange for Rafa having been the 'manager' at liverpool to now be the 'coach' and living in Mourinho's shadow. I think that was what the formation was all about. He's trying to say 'fuck you i'll do it my way'. Only problem with that is that he is putting his own ego before the good of the team. Its going to be a long season.

The whole team looked bad...we got a penalty and even didnt score from that, was that Rafa's fault as well? Eto'o should have taken it but whatever, yes we wanted 6 trophies but i would rather have another season like the one we had if that meant losing this cup (not that i wanted us to less, offroucrse not),i am mad as hell and would have loved Inter to make history but Benitez fucked up....but so did the players.

Cesar
Maicon-Lucio-Samuel-JAVIER ZANETTI
Cambiasso--Motta / Mariga / Stankovic
------SNEIJDER / COUTINHO---------
PANDEV----------------------ETO'O
----------MILITO------------------

This should be our formation and it shouldnt change, subs were insane as well, take out Sneijder? You put Javier Left back, take out Chivu and send in Coutinho and attack. Sneijder can take advantage of any dead ball situation, you never take him out. l just hope this is just one of those games where everyone got everything wrong and hopefully it wont happen again.

I hope so too but i am more inclined to think its the Benitez effect. Until he gets 'his' team out there he will fuck around with Mourinho's team. The worrying thing about the game was the failure to create any real goalscoring opportunities. At least with Mourinho there would have been some change in tactics to remedy this.

Rafa is an ultra defensive coach - just look at his formations and player selections for Liverpool. He likes hard working players that 'press' the opposition like Dirk Kuyt (!!!) Any skilfull players have their creativity drilled out of them or are played out of position like Babel. Playing Sneijder on the wing is classic Rafa.

Yeah, exactly my thoughts too.

We have always been able to create multiple chances in front of goal.

I hope Javier Zanetti was just being his usual professional self, with regard to his media comments.

He said "its natural for a coach to have his ideas" and that the players are on-board.

If anything, I hope tonight was 'head games', to make teams think we will actually line up like this in the future, with Zanetti at CM, Stankovic in place of Pandev in the line up, and Sneijder out on the wing :thumbsdo:

Maybe its a big double bluff, teams will prepare for the Mourinho formation but we will use Benitez Xmas tree? I am afraid, if that is Beni's plan :D This formation isn't good enough to win, even if the opposition weren't ready for it (as Atleti showed!)

That's a kiss of death if ever i heard one. You can bet this means the players were pissed with the formation.

The fact is that Inter just enjoyed one of their best seasons ever so all Benitez really has to do is keep the team ticking over. The hard part for Rafa is dealing with the critics who will say 'oh its still Mourinho's team' and try and negate any success that he has with this team. This is what Rafa really can't take because he is Mourinho's big rival.

Rafa should just take his time and quietly introduce some exciting talents that add to the attacking thrust of a good, solid team. If it isn't broken don't 'fix' it ! The trouble is that Rafa (like many other managers) has a big ego and will automatically want to stamp his authority on the team, even if that doesn't bring instant success.

The strengths of Rafa are that he can be a great tactician (usually) and can make a team that is very hard to beat but on the negative side he is a poor man manager and can be very distant from the players (unlike Mourinho).

I'm serious :shades:

We can't expect now, once the best coach in the "motivation/man management department" left, that we still should expect the same. If someone does it he will be dissapointed all the time.

I don't mean we should go to mediocrity. I think Jose is a special case, and gives the team 120% in that area. I just suggest to go back to 100% for people who might have some ticki-tacka in their heart when we loose ;)
