We are having our best season since the treble. Just chill and enjoy it dude. Live a little.

Some people are just dumb its how it is. Shortsighted and has already forgotten spalletti,Stramaccioni,Ranieri,Leonardo and Frank de Boer days.

Inter is finally on the right trajectory. #InterIsComing

Inter have set out for Dusseldorf and the Europa League Final Eight tournament, but Antonio Conte is expected to drop Christian Eriksen again with Bayer Leverkusen.

Inter (probable): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; D’Ambrosio, Barella, Brozovic, Gagliardini, Young; Lautaro Martinez, R Lukaku

So Gagliardini is set to receive his 14th start in a row, only missed Napoli due suspension... Some one wake me up already.

I know it sounds unreasonable but I’m almost angry at Sensi that he’s been out injured for this long. Imagine if we had him fit.

Why couldn't Eriksen replace him though? It's outrageous Conte keeps choosing Gags instead.

I'm afraid he would play even if sensi is fit, he just has different characteristics than any of our midfielders, mainly physicality and height.

How come that wasn't the case when Sensi was fit so?

Just because I'm not an unbridled cheerleader, doesn't mean I don't think we're in a good spot. Sorry if that passes as "negative" or pessimistic on FiF.
Just take the compliment when someone offers it :)

It was good optimistic post (which imo was unlike you that I pointed out) and it's a breath of fresh air. There will be times again to be gloom and doom (hopefully not soon enough) but it ain't so ever since we've got Marotta. It took some time, but with 1-2 more summer mercatos we'll get there were we want Inter to be.

Gags (how bad that sounds) is as close to the dm that Conte is looking for that we can put at the moment, even though he really isn't DM. That's the hard truth Ruth. You think gags would smell the grass had we have Kante for instance? No fucking chance. He's playing there out of necessity, not because Conte loves him. Keep in mind, not so long ago it was said Gags is done at Inter and we'll sell him at the first chance (not that we still won't do it).

Brozo is no DM, neighter Barella, or Sensi or Valero or Eriksen. Vecino is second after Gags which is why he played from time to time too. But (hopefully) once we'll do the mercato Conte expects it's time over for gags, and we'll get good enough player to make Eriksen thrive in that AM spot.

I think gaglia had big problems integrating in this formation and it took a lot of time for conte to start to trust him. And yes, conte kinda didn't have a choice but still, level of trust is much bigger now than at the start of the season, and honestly, I think he is more than satisfied with gaglia right now, to the point where I think he would be heavily rotated with sensi if he was fit. Just a hunch though, we can't know these things for sure given sensi lengthy absence.

One of the most important thing in these games are desire and stakes. For Inter it's a bonus, a good to win cup. For clubs like Leverkusen, Wolves it's path to CL qualification.

Also Europa winners gets into pot 1, so there is something for both clubs to play for but Leverkusen will have lot to play for. Shame both Europa games are played at same time.

But even besides the Pot 1 thing - which, as I've said elsewhere, tends to get overblown, IMO - you build a sustained winning culture by, you know, actually winning things. Is winning the Europa League what we wanted at the beginning of the season? No, but it's the trophy that's still attainable and we would have to beat some pretty good teams to get to it (...in all likelihood). There's Manchester United and 5x winner Sevilla in this competition still, so there are big teams and this needs to be seen as a big deal. And if we can beat teams like that*? That's a sign of serious progress not only in terms of the squad being built, but in terms of the culture being established around them. To see top teams on the other side of the field and not cower at the very sight of them. It's the kind of shit that needs to stop happening when we face Juventus as well; we can go toe-to-toe with them on paper, but we get frightened in the actual games. That needs to stop. If this team wins a European trophy, maybe that's the best sign they can get that they have nobody to fear other than themselves.

Now, that probably still doesn't compare to Leverkusen or Wolves who, as you said, have even more riding on this tournament as far as their potential for 2020-'21 is concerned. And, honestly, if we weren't in this tournament, I wouldn't mind seeing either** of those teams win it. But, you know, beggars and choosers and whatever. I don't want a scenario at this point where I find myself ok with either of them winning.

*I know, at most, we could only face one or the other, if either of them at all.
**I realize that, as many of you know, I like Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga, and they and Leverkusen are something of a derby, but I don't live in Germany and I've never felt much of a rivalry myself with them. Köln, however, can get fucked. Ditto Dortmund; especially Dortmund.

Another important reason why wining Euro League is good: Inter could get for the fourth time champion. Only Sevilla would have more wins (they won 5 times).

Not if you have a good coach who can set up a team to try to minimize the downsides of that weakest link. In your analogy, in the chain every link has exact same responsibility and it's divided equally. In a sports team you can have 1 link (player) who is responsible for 90% of the plays and the other who is responsible for 10%.

You put Gagliardini in the best 10 other players you can field in the world, put there Klopp or Pep or whomever you think is the best coach atm, and you think we should still be scared for this match?

Get real man.
