THE LOST GOALS
Inter to look for its first goal at the San Siro.
Haven't scored a goal yet this season in the three games: will try again Sunday against Chievo.
Milan - San Siro without... goals. No leap in the dark, only abstinence, long abstinence, a very bad but obviously unintended strike of goals. Inter haven't scored one yet at home and consequently have not won even a game. It is true that home games were only three but it is equally true that among those three happened to be one against Trabzonspor, not Barcelona. In short, San Siro is no longer a fort.
Yuto, the last You can argue that many goals have been wrong, that the opponent goalkeepers saved the possible and the impossible and especially against Napoli something went very wrong in other ways but the statistic is this: zero goals at home for an abstinence of 297 minutes that is from the 3-1 goal against Catania by Nagatomo last May 22, a season ago. Question: what if instead Inter started the season with Lecce and would it be different? Because against Lecce would have been the start to this season and instead it was skipped due to strike. So maybe (again base on if), games with a victory would have been at 14 and Gasp would have a different story. Instead, in Palermo however, Inter were full of errors and conceded four goals compared to three goals scored. This start began to put some anxiety on Inter which also did not get positive results against the Turkish and Roma.
Missed opportunities In all of this, of course, scoring zero goals at home should be considered along with some opportunities that went badly: Trabzonspor goalkeeper Tolga got two great saves or Roma defender Kjaer blocked Sneijder's shot from a few meters away, or even the poor shooting displays of Pazzini and Forlan against Napoli in the chaos created by Rocchi. So again, it's been 297 minutes that Inter last scored at home. In 1976-77, Inter were without goals for six home games for a long fast of 630 minutes which was stopped by a goal by Pavone in Inter 1-1 Perugia. In 1972-73 three games without goals just like this year (402 minutes) as well as in 91-92 (332) and 74-75 (313). The moral here is that Chievo for Inter has become the game. Because Di Carlo's system is very good tactically and especially against the big clubs. Ranieri and Javier Zanetti are ready: "We hope to give Ranieri a great gift on Sunday against Chievo with a win. We want to reverse the course at the San Siro." Exactly.
