No I think it's because they are in the CL places & not the EL places that there is no 6th place?

Italy got six places in Europe.. 5 from standings and 1 for the coppa winner. If the coppa winner already qualifies to Europe then the sixth in the league qualifies. Italy must have 6 teams in Europe.

I'm wondering if it would wise to play Shaqiri in palacio's place. He probably can't perform as a second striker. And I don't think he can strike a partnership with hernaness seeing how the latter likes to play on his own. I think that palacio needs to be rested but we'll probably miss him if he doesn't play. Specially if podolski would take his place.

You are wrong, but I like the way you think. If Arsenal win the FA Cup, they should lose their CL spot. If Napoli finish 3rd AND win the EL, the two CL qualifications should cancel each other out. That would be so much more fun.
