Matthäus,Messi,
Strange thing with the coppa Italia badge,i could'nt find it at any single Nike store in Milano, neither the store in Corso Buenos Aires nor in Corso Viktor Emmanuale but they had the lega calcio for 5e and put it on,they gave me 2 scudetto for free. The coppa was available at the calcio store in the galeria for 5e but only if you buy the shirt...but no lega calcio...
Guess ebay will get a visit from me soon.

Speaking of Coppa Italia patches, I don't like the placement of the Coppa Italia patch on our new jerseys.

I think it looks awkward stuck there over the Nike logo.

It would look much nicer on the left sleeve, opposite the Serie A or Champions League badge (which are on the right).

I'd have to disagree, I like the position. The last time we had the coppa badge, it was on the shirt sleeve, and due to the small size, it wasn't very visable.

If you also notice closely, the Nike logo is slightly lower than in previous years. Typically, the Nike logo, club emblam, and scudetto were all even. But this year, the Nike logo is sitting slightly lower. Even the initial leaked concept drawing had the Nike logo and club emblam even. But once we won the coppa, Nike lowered their logo to accomodate the coppa badge. IMO, if you get the shirt and don't iron on a coppa badge, the shirt will now have an unbalanced look to it.

Fuck I'm so drunk right now but let me try my hardesrt to explain. Yes, the Nike logo has been noticably lowered to accommodate the Coppa Italia patch, but nevertheless, it still looks awkward to me.

And I completely agree that due to the nike logo being lowered, if you chose not to put the CI patch there, the shirt would look kinda retarded. But this is no fault of ours, moreso the fault of Nike who should never have put the CI patch there and never should have lowered their logo in the first place.

Let me explain it this way. There are 3 'marks' on the jersey. Left, middle and right. Left is Nike + CI, middle = scudetto, and right is our logo. If you draw a straight line, they should be more or less lined up.

like so:

96745393.jpg

See this is our shirt from last season when we didn't have the CI patch. The badges are all divided in the area shown with a green boundary and sit within them perfectly. YES, the star above the inter logo does not fit in the box but it is so small compared to the larger shape of the circle which makes up the inter logo that the eye doesn't notice it very much.

The THREE badges sit within their 3 boxes.

Below is a close up of our new jersey with the CI patch.

65663072.jpg

notice immediately that there is not 3 sections now, but 4, because the 'left' section is divided into two sections, one for the Nike logo, one for the CI patch. Notice also that where I've drawn with orange, the top of the CI circle comes above the bounding green border, and because it is a heavier shape and size than for example the star above the Inter logo, the eye is instantly drawn to its inbalance. Additionally it is RED contrasting with the BLUE stripe of the jersey meaning it stands out even moarrrr.

I don't mean to sound arrogant or anything but i've been a graphic designer for a while now and what i'm tellign tyou is straight-up design principle sensibility and design psychology.

I respect and agree with your opinion that the coppa Italia badge is not noticable enough when placed on a sleeve. In my opinion, the solution would be to have a larger COppa Italia badge (about the size of our Inter logo), and to place it on the left sleeve.

I thought I'm the only one.

Agreed, they should have lowered the Nike stripe further down.

Hahaha, props to you to actually map that out. I'd just leave it as agreeing to disagree. I think the layout is perfect, especially since the star balances against the coppa badge.

Totally agree that the coppa badge is too small. I'd have no problem with them making it larger and putting it on the sleeve. If I recall, Roma used a much bigger coppa badge on their shirts.

hahaha well said. As for our my friend said that your eye is more drawn to the coppa badge because itlooks out of place. Sometimes I agree, sometimes I dont. I mostly think its a good idea though as we destroyed Italy and europe last season and this year our top shows other teams not to fuck with us.

Alcatraz: if you still need a link for the coppa patches. Sorry for the delay, was busy yesterday. I think that seller only delivers to italy but if you type in coppa italia in the search bar there will be sellers that ship elsewhere. Best to sign in on ur account and check shipping before buying.

The Coppa Italia badge was much lower than usual on a couple of the players' shirts (Coutinho). Although probably unintentional, it looks much better.

It is pretty interesting. When you see the shirts from close up, like in the fotos we had in the thread in the beginning the shirts look bad. But if you look at them from some distance (in the tv for example) they look stunning, as you don't see a clear borders between the stripes, and the black/blue shirts look kinda blury.

For example:

This effect is incredible. Now I fuckin LOVE those shirts.
