There was simply no game plan from us despite all the possession, which turned out to be useless. Had it not been for Handa, we could have lost by few more goals.

This loss has like 95% Spalletti written over it. Ridiculous starting lineup, dropping Icardi forcing us to use not a striker Keita to play striker position (and no sub striker on the bench). Then keeping Valero for SEVENTY FUCKING MINUTES on the pitch.

I really don't care for the reasonings beforehand, but now afterwards all of those decisions were complete misses.

We could have done with Icardi today.

the way we play would PROBABLY be the same but at least Icardi would have been able to open up some space

The decision to bench a fully fit Gagliardini following his great derby performance is fucking shocking. That too, in favor of fucking Valero.

This. How can Spalletti get this so wrong?

This game was like a glass of skimmed milk, watered down and unsatisfying

Their game plan was perfect. And it has been proven time and again. If you sit back, Inter will just not be able to score against you. We are as toothless as a 90 year old grandpa.

And also to put it into perspective, none of our attacking players (Politano, Perisic, Keita, Vecino, Valero) would start for this Lazio team. That is how bad we are.

Valid point actually. Any team playing against Inter need not put any pressure on themselves by pushing forward. Just sit back, let Inter implode, pinch a goal or two and take the 3 points.

People never seem to admit it but Icardi's positioning and running actually give teammates a lot of convenience. Perisic didn't land a single cross today when Lazio park the bus, because Icardi used to just be at the end of it.

i'm beginning to think spalletti wanted to rest some of the players for wednesday's match. i know it sounds and IS deranged but i really can't find another "reasoning" for what he did today.

Take highest scoring/assisting Primavera player. Insert new player instead of Candreva. Success

I really thought we can get that win even without Lautaro&Icardi. I was wrong. We missed our predator in the box tonight.

Lazio has a pretty favorable schedule until the end. They look motivated this time.

Don't have one.
I can't believe people were optimistic about this one. We all know the CL spot is coming down to that Empoli game on the last day.

i dont think it was optimism at least for me it wasnt, i was more happy about the fact that everyone else lost points precisely because with us you never know and this game showed that.

That sounds really far-fetched. I understand what you are trying to do (find a reasoning :D ) but honestly that would be more retarded than anything it must have been haha. Lazio is our direct rival at the moment so home game against them is primary priority always.

It doesn't really matter, his last good game was the first game against lazio. Brozovic is really overrated here.

Him and Skriniar are the only 2 players who can actually recieve the ball, look up and pass to other players.

I wouldn't say that. They deliberately played this way tactically. They've learned. This is what gives Inter trouble and it worked.

Sure, but those aren't mutually exclusive. Bologna, Parma, Sassuolo and all kinds of subpar teams have done this to us successfully.
