Vidic getting banned is a good sign.

From a United forum.

Simple...the Inter players and fans will be shitting themselves at the thought of playing us. We'll smash the fuckers home and away.

:p

Seriously, am I the only person in the world who does NOT rate Vidic as a world class defender?!

He is good, but he makes more mistakes than Ferdinand, as far as i know.

I just hope we manage to actually score a goal, even tho a repeat of the liverpool games last year is very likely.

Apart from barca, this was the toughest possible draw, but tbh all the groupwinners apart from porto would be comfortable favourites against us, so it doesnt really matter. Atleast this game will surely be televised.

As for actual game, we need jz to help out against CR, or else he will surely exploit our FB's lack of defensive ability.

Sadly i dont see much hope for doing anything going forward, they are used to playing at a much higher tempo than we are and their midfield is about 20 times better than ours, we will surely be pushed back and play idealess football with long balls to Zlatan.

Apart from zlatan, jc, maicon and samuel they have much better players all around.

I give us 80% chance that we crash out against united, we need healthy portion of luck to proceed here.
*sigh* You're such an embarrassing "fan".

Anyway, this will be tough but we can do it. I just hope we don't get too many injuries.

English arrogance at its finest, would be nice to see them cry if we win.

Well.. Ive been wondering what you rockies think about it.. Manutd..

I`ll say the same thing Ive said last year.. Facing the big guns this early would prove if we are worthy getting ahead of this competition or not..
If we beat Manutd then we make a point that we are serious about it this time and no one can stop us from reaching the final and just snap this trophy..

If we lost like last year against Liverpool.. so there was no point of dreaming of playing in the late rounds of this championship.. as we cant be the champions of Europe if we didnt manage to destroy a couple of the Europe big guns in our way.

People cant dream on winning the CL by facing teams like Porto, Villareal, Panathionacos, Lyon .. we should face Manutd.. and if we won, we should face Barca, and if we won.. we should face Chelsea or Juve.. this is how it should be done.

Now we should have faith in the Ragazzi and stand behind them.. and stop worrying and crying like women!..

How fans' mentality got anything to do with players' mentality? Players should always have a winning mentality as it's their job to do their best for the money they're given by the club.

Fans on the other hand are in different position. We, "Internet-fans", do not have any kind of responsibility to always just cheer the team even in the darkest hour when our team completely disrispects the Inter-shirt (like last Pana/Werder matches). I'm like Azzkikr, an Inter-fan who have still reasonably realistic view of the situation around Inter and the whole euro football. That's why we aren't over-confident of Inter success in every day of the year but we follow the team in cold, realistic atmosphere. The cold realism is that ManU is a clear favourite to go through.

That what a liverpool fan said last year after the CL draw.. and guess who`s got dominated?.. they didnt think that they have a chance against us.

I think I`ll consider it a good sign that you ppl think that way.. and Im usually right. :patch:

Vidic out for both games? that would be amazing for us.
I would say Rio and him are even more important for them than Samuel and Cordoba to us, atleast we have Matrix and Chivu.

When he has a good game, there generally is no way past him. I don't know if he is prone to mistakes since I don't watch them often but I have seen him dominate the game a few times.

Of course, his replacement would be a lot weaker.

Vidic out is good because their 3rd choice Johnny Evans is hardly worldbeater, but wont matter much considering we wont trouble their defensive line much because the midfield battle is already lost.

This game is won and lost in midfield and you would have to be very optimistic to believe that our skill-less, slow midfielders has a chance in hell against a talented and balanced midfield who are used to play at twice the tempo ours is.

Ofcourse we can hope that one of the many long balls to Zlatan has a higher chance of success without Vidic.

With a little luck we should be able to get a shot on goal this time, not a repeat of the amazing "zero shots on goal" record, like in the first pool game.

Yeah, that is our hope. If there were Zlatan and Adriano up front, they could possibly grind the needed scoring chances against Ferdinand-Evans/Brown.

I think our first match will go better than against Liverpool as the latter was an away match in Anfield. ManU won't attack all over us as Liverpool did back there.

How is their midfield better than ours?

Cambiasso-Zanetti-Muntari- Stankovic

is better than

Carrick(blah)-Hargreaves-SCholes- Ronaldo
