My god some ppl still are optimistic about adriano. When will you guys realize that he wont be as good as he was before, its impossible.. Look at the first video at the website on my signature.. When we played vs Valencia (1-5).
He was unstoppable. I dont think we´ll see that adri ever again.

Maybe if our players starts diving in the penalty area, we might get a penalty.. But i wouldnt be suprised if Adri missed it..

there are players that go through their entire careers without single handedly destroying a team the way adriano did that day against valencia (lol he only scored one goal that day)

now thats airy fairy potential that adriano is capable of

i also cant help but think the reason adriano is doing so shit right now is the same reason vieri went through the same funk

due to injuries and strength building rather than speed building

vieri used to tied for quickest (with cordoba) over 100 metres at inter if anyone can remember

MANCINI'S SQUAD FOR INTER V MESSINA
Saturday, 16 December 2006 14:19:58
APPIANO GENTILE - Roberto Mancini has named this 19-player squad for Sunday's Serie A home match against Messina:

Goalkeepers: 1 Francesco Toldo, 12 Julio Cesar Soares.

Defenders: 4 Javier Zanetti, 6 Maxwell, 13 Maicon, 16 Nicolas Burdisso, 23 Marco Materazzi, 25 Walter Samuel, 77 Marco Andreolli.

Midfielders: 5 Dejan Stankovic, 7 Luis Figo, 14 Patrick Vieira, 19 Esteban Cambiasso, 21 Santiago Solari, 91 Mariano Gonzalez.

Strikers: 8 Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 10 Adriano, 18 Hernan Crespo, 20 Alvaro Recoba.

The squad

And Cordoba only was tipped this, not Vieri I think, if anyone it would have been Martins ;)

I'm strongly convinced that if we hadn't brought Ibrahimovic, Adri would be as in-form as Zlatan is at the moment..
Why? Cos he would be playing on a regular basis, and with Crespo as our main strike force he would be relieved of pressure.. And that he and Crespo indeed can work together you could have seen from the Chievo game, when he was one of the best on the pitch and gave a nice assist to Crespo for our third goal..
And that was before his trip to Brazil!
Someone said that the reason for his condition is strenght instead of speed building.. That could be true but I really don't think that our staff is so stupid to give him such a programm.. Your constitution doesn't depend only on your training but also on what you eat and well, how much you sleep.. And these things cannot be controled by the staff.. Some things depends only on players will...
Curently Adri is having fitness problems.. and that can be solved till the end of the winter break.. but there is another problem.. Instead of who should he be played? Ibrahimović? I don't think so.. Crespo? Well, I think every Interista would like our attack to be (in-form) Ibra-Adri.. But we need someone to score goals.. And if Adri miraculously doesn't find his scoring touch in one game he gets to play from the beggining, or Ibra becomes our main goalscorer which is even more improbable, Adri is condemned to become - unnecessary..

You have raised good points there,
However, I wouldnt prefer and "In-form" Ibra-Adri
Crespo has proved time and time again that he is a natural goal poacher, he can pull a goal out of almost anything.

I think the Messina game will be a really entertaining one!
Really lookin forward to it!

Adri is the future, together with Ibra... this duo shall be a long term solution in forward for Inter.

not optimistic->realistic...
what's impossible? :lol: :lol: :lol:
Ronaldo was told to be out of football the same way, even worse... look at his career, in 02 he led Brazil to WC-victory and scored sh*tloads of goals whenever and wherever he played. Roni had injuries for YEARS!
Imperatore doesn't have any injuries, he just needs some time to get back in top form
Even now he's good at giving assists and dividing the attention of defences, so the others (like Samuel against empoli) can score. The most important is that the team could win, it's secondary who scores.
useless.. lol again:lol:
like it or not: cruz and crespo (and also recoba) will be out in two years (max. 3), so Adri definetly won't be useless. Selling him would be a loss at least as much as it was with Seedorf, Pirlo, Roberto Carlos for xmpl or even more

Crespo, Zanetti
Even without Zlatan, I doubt that Adriano would be that great at this point. Sure, he might score 2 or 3 since he would be playing more, but probably not 7 or 6 goals that Crespo and Zlatan have right now. The fact of the matteris that adriano was of of form at the season's end, inbetween the seasons (ie. world cup), and at the start of the new season and whether Zlatan and Crespo were here doesn't matter. Adriano had a few chances early on the season when Mancini played Ibra + adri but he didn't prefrom well either.

@KaiokenFlash

Yes, Crespo can pull a goal out of nothing,.. And yet Adriano use to give that term a whole new meaning... What expression should we use to describe his goals against Peruggia, Empoli, Udinese and finally Roma (cup final)? These were the real miracles of football..
The important thing is that he was scoring on a regular basis.. And if he was still doing it I really don't know what would put Crespo infront of him..
What I want to say is - Adri can have the same goals per match ratio as Crespo.. Only he can do it with much more class..

@szasza02
Yes, Crepo, Cruz and Recoba will be worn out in 2-3 years, but should Adri be a sub till then? That has just nothing to do with common sense..

@HDavius
But Ibra was on-form in that period? His displays at the start of the season were too hilarius to watch.. And as my friend who supports Juventus said when we were watching a game together - he's the same dumbass as he was last season.. And please let me not remind you of his scoring record that year..
I personally think that Adri would have scored more than Ibrahimovic did till now, but that's just a personal opinion.. However fact is that Adri always had (I'm sorry to write it instead of "has" but this is how the thing are at the moment) much more profound sense for the goal than Ibra..
To put it simple - in ideal conditions an on-form Adri would have scored twice more than on-form Ibra :D

I wish to see burdisso partner matrix for a central position with maxwell on the left bank. It will be good to see how those two settle in...

As for our mid field, it should be the same with captiano, vieira , cambiasso and stanko.I think adriano is going to start this one with ibra since crespo is injured.
Lets see him start and maybe score a goal...

Will Adri ever bring back that form?
No one knows, Every Interista wants him back for sure. But we all reserve our belief in that happening to a certain extent.

The old Adri was OUTSTANDING!
He needs the fire back in him. Lets hope he gets his chance against Messina to ignite that fire in him one again!......(then PERHAPS, for us to see it die out agen at the end of the season)

Good to see Figo starting now, since Stankovic will be rested for the difficult Lazio-match. Adriano is not 100%, since I think he would have started too now instead of Zlatan. Good lineup, our holding midfield is steel.

I hope Recoba does well along with everyone and maybe we could see him alongside Adri before the end of this one
