Don't get excited yet, only 7 fixtures done so far. If we beat bbilan that would mean something, still Napoli,Juve matches to do and prove if we can keep up

by same token dont get so miserable yet

What is wrong with you? He helped win the treble and fucked up Bayern in the CL the year after...he wasn't our star but he was there when needed...

spalletti's are slightly better, but the numbers are basically the same.
good defense, possession, poor offense. some luck in the results

i think this team is better than that, and the coach is better, but the parallels are worrying.
that said, the good start that year was good enough for fourth place, even when the streak unraveled.
if we get 4th this year, i am satisfied

in fact, I actually think it is a great think that the parallel to that team is continuously made, as it keeps a loud monkey on their shoulders, and it emphasises that things can change dramatically very quickly, so hopefully they will give 110% to show that this time is different.

14 goals in 7 games are average 2 goals per game which doesn't mean poor offense. Mancini's average is 1 per game and that speaks enough.

Nah. Even if we beat both Milan and Napoli it means nothing other than gaining some ground for a potential 4th/3rd finish. Remember 'Inter Da Scudetto' season? Same thing. Fluke wins can only last so long, to be on Napoli's and Juve level you need much more than that.

Look at the table, all of our wins are against lower mid-table teams. Roma is an only exception. We draw against Bologna which is currently 10th. Our goal is 4th place and we may lose against Napoli and Jube but we must beat the like of Milan, Atalanta, Sampdoria, Lazio.

^ You have a point, however you forgot Fiorentina 3-0. Roma away was huge, considering we never won there since forever ago. We used to loose to those lower mid table teams in the couple last seasons, and Bologna is actually a tough team to beat if you've been following Donadoni.

We're basically undefeated since July 21st on that friendly draw with Schalke. Then we won all three ICC games (Lyon, Bayern, Chelsea) for a summer trophy, along with the last of the 2 spanish friendlies (Vilareall, Betis).

In my book, that is a very good start of the season. 1 draw against Donadoni's Bologna away is nothing. They tied Torino and us at home, both 1-1, only falling to Napoli 3-0. Looking at the rest of their games, they had 3 away wins (Benevento, Sassuolo, Genoa) and only 1 loss against Fiorentina, where they managed to score.

Before the season started if i was offered 19 points out of 21 I would have snapped your hand off.

I am worried about our play but I'm sure we can raise it. We won while playing poorly, as others have said we typically would have conceded equalizers or even lost those matches. If we were Roma and we lost that match, I'd be amazed. They completely outplayed us which again is worrying. We haven't been convincing, but I'm expecting us to lift it.

Spolier alert, we ARE going to eventually lose, we ARE going to draw games we should be winning, but as long as we finish in the top 4 fuck it. We can play like shit all year, dont care as long as we get top 4
