You don't honestly think it was anyone else than Inter fans, do you?

You didn't understand the question. What if he was a Milan fan, OFFENDING BALO, to get Inter fined?

Who knows if he's an Inter or Milan fan, or none of them at all? Just a bored rich guy whatever. It's kind of stupid to just fine teams, when only some people insult the players. Not understanding what the rules are...

Its usually not just one person, it takes at least a small group to get chanting noticed. Even if that group is secretly Milan fans, if they are sitting among the home fans while chanting in an Inter home game, it is still Inter's responsibility.

No, it's more of a misunderstanding of the rules of UEFA/FIFA. The team shouldn't be fined if only a small group insult a player. It's not Inter's responsibility for them imho.

You wouldn't have that opinion if it were Juventus or Milan fans, I'm sure :work:

Racism is disgusting and should be punished, be it committed by the minority of people or not.

I can understand it being frustrating to see the club being punished because some fans were stupid, I mean Inter themselves could release a statement saying not to be racist and that still wouldn't stop some people. Not sure do Serie A teams ever put a stadium ban on individuals who have been caught being racist? That wouldn't be a bad shout for more preventative measures, I'm sure there is a way to at least identify the person(s) caught on camera with the inflatable bananas.

Yes, Visca, but they will not do that, since for instance both Milanese clubs have low attendance comparing to some other big clubs around the globe. But yeah, the fans should get fined by the club...

Well i think that's what the stewards should be for, let them spot the idiots and kick them out, with police presence.

The money lost by losing the attendance of a few "fans" is a lot less than being fined 50k every time they do something stupid.

i thought about that the second I wrote it :genius:

but the banana...isn't that Inter's fault? for not searching people? okay, he could've hidden that in his underpants...but what about the flares? flares are fucking stupid, how can you go watch a game and fuck it for everybody with a fucking flare. either the stewards start doing their jobs, or we will get more fines because of stupid fans. ok, maybe we couldn't do nothing about the banana, but I don't Moratti would say 'LET'S GET THIS INTER FAN AND BAN HIM FROM THE STADIUM', Moratti is not that kind of a guy, he wants to be loved by every Inter fan, so....

When I went, they checked my bag, but really I could have hidden anything in my pocket or under my coat if I wanted to, that's how this stuff gets in. They could do more to screen what people bring into the stadium yes, but at the same time it would be really hard to spend so much time checking each individual when 80k people are trying to get in. Kind of a tough situation.

Re: flares I think they add to the atmosphere of big matches but then again I saw Curva Sud toss one down onto stewards after Milan's goal & the smoke on the pitch is a problem too.

How is it that one of the worst and most notorious football leagues in terms of fans (EPL) managed their fans and Serie A can't? It can't be really that difficult to implement standardised security measures, especially at the cost our team spends in fines.

(Just saying yeah this is Italy will earn a big fuck you from me) .

tbh, no idea, because I've been to a match in England before too, and their security was even more lax (no bag check, no ID check, nothing). Do Italian stadiums have CCTV? Think that might be why there is little trouble in English stadiums anymore, because it's so easy to be caught on camera causing problems and thrown out/banned. Also it's shifted to be much more family friendly (though this is all at a cost, the atmosphere is nowhere near what it is like in Italy for example. If Inter played in England I doubt CN would be allowed to be half of what it is). However probably an English person would better know how and what changes took place.

I think also a big part of it is after events like Heysel, the English were so heavily punished that things HAD TO CHANGE, so they put a ton of effort into it. I couldn't find, on inter.it, anything about stadium rules & regulations, but Milan's website has a whole list of things that are supposedly not allowed in, but you see at Serie A matches constantly (flares, smoke bombs, offensive signs etc). It seems like if you are successful at sneaking these things in, nothing can happen to you once inside (do people ever get thrown out for lighting a flare or unveiling an offensive sign, despite it being officially "against the rules"? Doesn't seem like it).

However I also don't think there need to be extreme changes like in England, because like I said, too much security/rules and you lose the atmosphere. Just need to take better care of the racism problem, and steps to deal with that (i.e. stewards see someone with inflatable banana, or a group of people racist chanting = bye bye). Other types of insults, players - Balotelli or otherwise - should be able to deal with, but nobody should be subjected to racism no matter what they have said or done.

I've been wondering that too. What stops any random person to wear an Inter jersey and then racially abuse the opposition players? Why does the club pay for it?

Maybe they have rules like the abuse has to come from the season ticket stand, or the stand where Inter club members are present? But if there are no such clauses, then its just stupid according to me.
